Gamble with Kadala. Upgrade rares in Kanai’s Cube. Speed run GR’s - the faster you run them the more you complete = more drops and chances for what you are looking for. Grind, grind, grind. This IS a loot hunting game, after all.
Go to maxroll . gg for build guides.
Look for tier list of builds on maxroll.
For GR90 even a C tier build will crush it with no effort.
Choose something you like, there is descriptions and pros and cons of builds. Some are simpler beginner friendly, some more complex.
Also you dont need any “better” items for GR90, you need the “right” items for your build.
Once you have all items for your build (they can be the worst possible roll imaginable on all of them) you will be able to crush GR90 no problem. After that is getting “better” versions of those items.
Sheet DPS means nothing - it is multiplied by a factor that can go into multiple 1.000.000% (million) or greater depending on your gear setup.
I think you need a proper guide. d3.maxroll.gg/category/guides
Knock your self out.
At nearly 1000 paragon, there is no reason why you can’t crush T16 if you have been paying attention to the game mechanics. If you have a full set armour, any of them will be able to cruise along at T16. So it sounds like the items aren’t the issue; instead it’s that you haven’t learned the basics of item properties and how damage is calculated (additive vs multiplicative damage rolls), and how to enchant items to improve them.
The standard answer always seems to be to point people to guides, and I agree that they can help, but far too many people just look at the list of recommended items and not bother to actually study the guide to understand how the build works. As a result, the player is really no better off than before.
So my suggestion is to start trying to learn the actual game mechanics. And most importantly, read the item descriptions. For example, you ask where you can get a better 1h crossbow. But why are you using a 1h crossbow to begin with? If you can’t answer that, then you are going to be very frustrated with this game.
Now, there is nothing wrong with playing this game casually. If you have no issue sticking to the lower Torment levels and just want to run around and kill monsters, no one’s stopping you. However, if you want to advance in the game, then you will have to put in the time and effort of learning how the game works. Yes, the guides can help, but only if you really study them and understand the underlying concepts of the builds. That way you can get an idea of how the game works, so that you can deviate from those builds based on your paragon, what items you actually have, and what properties those items have.
Repeating for truth: check build guides on maxroll.gg
.
For DH: Gears of Dreadland and marauders are both very strong and should allow you to crush T16 and go far above GR100 without problems, if you complete the builds.
For wizard: firebirds probably best options. Vyrs with chantodo also perfectly viable though, although a bit messier to get the build to feel smooth with enough cooldown reduction. At top of leaderboards, wizards are not as strong as DH or monks this season, but again, both firebirds and Vyrs can crush T16 and go well above GR100 with mediocre gear as long as you have the correct items.
For monk: just run inna. It’s the best build in the game right now, especially at lower levels. Patterns of justice is not bad by any means, but it’s competing with innas, sooo… just run inna.
Whatever you choose, I’d suggest sticking with one toon and completing one build, and learning how to play it, and you’ll be flying through GR100+ in no time.
For farming the missing gear (follow the maxroll guides for solo speed builds), run FAST greater rifts. FAST. Find a GR level where you can run in 2-3minutes. You should be rolling over the monsters, killing even elites in 5 seconds, 10 max. If it takes you more than 4minutes to complete a rift, then you’re too high, step down until your build is ready.
- Run 2-3 GRs back to back (when you’re inventory or blood shards are full), without even looking at your gear or anything, just go up, close the rift and straight to the pylon and open another.
- Between sets, aim to minimise town time, identify, check if you’ve found any of the missing pieces, put ancient duplicates of needed gear in the chest and salvage the rest.
- Gamble for the missing pieces with kadala, salvage for an empty inventory (apart from gems) and run another set of greater rifts asap.
- Only stop to change gear if you found a new piece of your build, and even then don’t spend too much time rerolling the stats (your first find is probably a crappy one, and you’re probably short on crafting mats), just get the correct roll, equip it, and run another set of GRs, now a bit higher.
Same for nephalem rifts (that you run only when you’re out of GR keys), stick to a level that you can do in 2-3 minutes. Do the challenge rift if you need bounty mats to put items in the cube. Don’t bother with bounties until you can speed T16 in less than 3 minutes, and even then ONLY to find ring of royal grandeur, and later also avarice band. Use the challenge rift mats to craft one (1) copy of cpt crimson or whatever you need, but otherwise just get back to GRs asap. You get the idea, just keep opening GRs, and you’ll find your pieces in no time.
Good luck!
well when d3 came my dh had 900k dps so i think im in the game mechanics but the grinding…HEEEEELPMEEEEE(crit chance stack bug)
remember when Athene was literally guaranteed to be world first inferno but then blizzard nerfed monks.
You mean the cult leader?
no i mean Athene, the guy that raised millions in charity for the kids.
Yes, the cult leader. I’m not saying this due to some hateful reason or whatever, he is legitimately a cult leader.
