[Main Thread] Lag in public games

Checking in for another update on this - none, of course.

I hate this but it is legit pretty much unplayable. Iā€™m also on fiber, 1000 down, and getting disconnected from my game even doing solo stuff now. I just got back into Diablo :frowning:

Yay for yet another day of public game fishing to find one that is a) stable b) no 4K ms latency.

Singapore on American server with 2000msec lag. A very cold turkey season - my head says donā€™t waste time, but my heart still hopes for change. When will D3 listen?

SG on murican server here reporting 4000ms lag just before new year. moral is low.

Huge Lag in Public Bounties Game
Heavy lag is in the game!
It usually happens when I join a public bounties game many times.
(not every time)

.
And I still stay in the heavy lag game.
Then I ask a question to the other 3 players.

Me: Do you all feel the lag?
Player 1: Yes!
Player 2: I canā€™t move! I canā€™t even cast a skill.
Player 3: 4k ms+

And they all leave the game.
Then I still stay in the heavy lag game.
I wait for the others and ask the same question to them.
They have the similar answers.

Does anyone know what happen to the game server?

Came back here to check for update - nothing.
Game still unplayable 2K + latency - even in solo.
Blizzard fix your game.

Latency will start once it reach Blizzard 62.115.x.x IP.

24 days and not even the courtesy of an update or plan to fix or even acknowledgement of the issue. Guess Blizzardā€™s approach to customers is the same as their approach to their employees.

Hey all,

We believe the lag in public games should be resolved now. Howā€™s it looking for everyone?

There was a separate issue affecting Singapore connections to the Americas servers, and that problem has been resolved as well by the ISP. So we should be seeing a lot less reports of high latency issues.

I m trying to connect to NA servers from Bangalore, India. But i keep getting 3006 error. After many tries, even if i get through, i am getting 1000-4000msec latency in private games. This is happening for last 2-3 weeks.

I have played almost all seasons of Diablo 3 on NA server but never had this issue. This started after a week into season 25.

Today i tried after your message on fixing but still the same issue.

Just to check, i connected to Asia server today and it was perfect. I played for couple of hours without even going beyond 150 msec.

So, thereā€™s some problem with NA servers in season 25. No idea what it is though.

I loved current season theme but looks like i have to give up playing this season as i am unable to play in NA server due to latency.

I donā€™t want to play in different region as all my cosmetics from all the seasons are in NA region.

Please check again. Thanks.

It happens again!

Jambrix. Nothing has changed.

I rebooted my cable modem, router, and PC. On US I started a solo T-16 game and when I load into town I have 1 bar of orange lag meter (over 500ms). Within 10-12 seconds it goes back to 3 green with 131ms. After about 2-3 minutes it goes down to 96ms. I use the way point to Cemetery of the Forsaken and it jumps to 122ms and takes another 8-10 seconds to go back to 96ms. I should be in the 30s to 40s (or below) in latency. I did this today at about 10:28pm EST from NYC/US.

Next, I joined a pub T-16 bounty game. It starts me with 521ms and quickly goes down to 169 ms. I leave that pub game after about 3 mins. I then join another pub T-16 bounty game and got stuck with infinite diamonds for 2 - 2.5 mins. I finally load into the game with 0 ms but unable to move. Iā€™m sat in the town for about 2 mins. During that time players are quickly entering and leaving the game. Iā€™m finally able to move, but Iā€™m rubberbanding and lag teleporting. Attempting to fire my weapon does not produce the complete animation (no projectiles or sound effect). Attempting to leave the game takes 20-30 seconds.

I next jumped over to EU. I started a solo T-16 game and it started me at 201ms (green lag meter). After about 20 seconds I drops down to 130ms. This is typical when connecting to EU from NYC/US. Next, I join a T-16 pub bounty game. The game loads me in immediately and starts me at 105ms. The lag meter fluctuates between 110 and 129ms.

This is not fixed.

Thanks for telling me.

Still seeing a lot of rubber banding and/or consistent high latency as of 1pm EST.

This WinMTR is me just logging into the game at T15 and standing in camp for a bit, no other actions taken.

I believe hop 10, where packet loss begins, is ATT into the Blizzard network

WinMTR v0.92

was finally workingfor a few days, and then itā€™s back to the 1000 latency, 3006 errors, timeout errors all over again now

Hey again everyone,

I wanted to clarify my previous post since ā€œlagā€ can be interpreted a couple of different ways. In this case and in this specific forum thread we were tracking server-side lag which resulted in all players in a game seeing delayed abilities and high latency server-side. This problem was due to some changes made for Season 25 launch and the Diablo 3 team was able to investigate and identify a few performance fixes they could implement to help alleviate this.

The D3 team is actively monitoring the situation to determine if any further changes need to be made, but overall the games should feel a lot better now like they did before Season 25 launch.

Now there may still be cases where individual players experience ā€œlagā€ or high latency in games, so we arenā€™t claiming that all connection lag is solved for everyone. It is important to distinguish if latency issues are only affecting you in a game or if itā€™s affecting everyone in the same game at the same time. The later is what was being investigated in this thread.

We recommend our Diablo III latency troubleshooting to start with for individual connection issues. Although it is important to keep in mind that sometimes latency problems can be caused by internet provider issues along the route, instead of something going wrong with the game client, PC itself, or your local network. A great way to determine if there is a problem along the route between PC and server would be to try testing an alternate connection and then see if things are better after a couple of games.

To prevent this thread from turning into a large troubleshooting thread for individual issues weā€™re going to lock it up. Please do feel free to create a new thread if anyone finds cases of game-wide lag affecting everyone in a specific game. Weā€™ll continue to monitor the forums and determine if a new a new main thread needs to be created if any server-side lag shows up again. Thanks!
