I got killed. When I resurrected, $5,000,000 of gold disappeared. It was not on the ground. Any ideas?
It’s only 5 Million, I wouldn’t worry about it. Add some gold find to any of your gear and you can get 5 million in a few minutes if not seconds.

It probably took longer to create this thread than it would have to farm the gold. Be thankful it wasn’t several bounty caches or that level 150 gem you were parking for a moment while you sorted your stash.

Maxed Boon of the Hoarder and a single T16 rift would net 40-50 times the lost amount and it propably would’ve taken less time than creating this thread.

Not sure, as far as I’m aware of, it’s not possible to lose gold upon dying in Diablo 3. Even if we consider repair costs, a single death would equal up to five million. That said, five million isn’t much of a dent, and as the other had already stated it can be made back up in no time.
It’s still rather puzzling though.
Gold does not just vanish in Diablo 3, thankfully. Gold is usually spent via various mechanisms in game. Some are kind of below the radar and increase in cost FAST.
- repairs
- Enchanting gear (goes up each time)
- Crafting gems
- Running rifts with the gold bonus
etc.
As others said though, gold in D3 is very easy to get.

It is possible to lose recently aquired stuff if you suddenly get server problems/failures resulting in disconnects.

You don’t pay any thing to get resurrecting!!! I did rifts, GR, bounties. You only pay when you go back to town and get repaired and that is less than a 100,000.
Plus with the new stuff on the follower you are getting gold even if you don’t pick it up.
