Looking forward and back. WASD

Lets face it, click to move is archaic. Diablo immortal has very good gameplay mouse and keyboard that that is because it is using WASD, and doing it mostly right. It’s such a refreshing change of pace that I have stopped playing Diablo 2 and 3 as well as poe, in favor of DI, though I will stay F2P. WASD feels incredible. I don’t expect D2 or D3 to get updated with WASD but it would be amazing if D4 had WASD as an option.

The addition of WASD movement is now mandatory for D4. Blizzard pulled off the bandaid for D:I and with more and more ARPGs including it over the years there’s simply no excuse for this to be missing at launch.

I just can’t imagine using WASD to move in an ARPG.

It’s pretty nice. It feels like a twin stick shooter with WASD and Mouse.

Moveing while attacking, would solve the problem of the chaneling skills.

Using a mouse is superior.

WASD does not suit this style of a game.

Controller is even superior.

You’re wrong, but entitled to your opinion. DI felt fantastic with WASD

Objectively speaking, WASD+Mouse is superior to all 3. It allows you to aim while moving in any direction. It literally just allows you to do the most actions at once.

As long as I can use the arrow keys I’m ok with key movement. My mouse is in my left hand which makes WASD a bit awkward.

My problem with WASD or arrow keys is that I have my left hand on mouse, my right hand on the arrow keys too move. So how the hell do I use my skills without having too stand still and get hit?

I usually put my skills on the NUMPAD but it still is a pain to use because I either have too limit my ability too move and avoid damage too get a skill off , or just uses the 2 or 3 abilities I can bind too my mouse.

I really believe click too move with a dodge too cursor button is the best method for an isometric ARPG.

Well, you’re left handed so you have that problem

The usual thing for people who use mouse with their right hand is to bind skills to keys near the WASD keys. You primarily combat skills will be on the mouse buttons, so you’ll always have immediate access to 3 buttons (or more depending on how many buttons your mouse has). Any extra ones can be easily bound to Q, E, F and the number row, for example. You don’t need to take your hand off the WASD at all, just stretch a finger a bit. That’s how people play high paced FPS like Apex and Overwatch which also has skills like that.

The advantage of having that system in an isometric game is that you get an extra degree of freedom, because you can use your mouse to rotate your character/aim while using wasd to move/strafe, just like you would in an FPS. That’s how it works in twin-stick shooters. It allows you to do things you wouldn’t otherwise be able to, such as walk backwards and strafe while shooting ranged attacks.
