only if your alt is going to run a LoD build long-term.
I had been under the impression you had responded directly to me and my Qs.
I’m not arguing to be an a…donkey, I really fail to see this.

Now that you’ve started your own thread, my (quoted) comments are irrelevant.
TBH, comment 1 and 3 could use some elaboration, in case you feel like educating me.
Comment one: I was in agreement if our first char is already using LoD, then using LoD on he alt is a given.
But if the primary is using a Set and LoD has to be leveled first, it would take time.
Now if your alt is going to go LoD, this is time well spent. But if the alt also is planning to use a set, would it still be efficient? Assembling a set build takes some time, so it might very well be efficient …
Comment three I simply fail to see the connection.
I don’t know if I’m the best person to do that since I normally don’t study game mechanics. As I stated before, my comments were in context of someone asking for a power-level. Your inquiry is about the quickest way to level up an alternate Character.
But, that’s just me. I don’t know what other players do each Season.
Comment three?
It’s been years since I’ve played in groups. But, from what I remember of friends power-leveling an Alternate for me: I would stand just inside the entrance to a GR90 Level 1 while they went off killing monsters. When they entered Level 2 and cleared the first room, I would teleport to them and wait at that door, and so on. Before they even spawned the GRift Guardian I would already be Level 70 and starting to gain Paragon Points.
I would immediately be able to start leveling my own Gems. And yes, it took some time. But, not nearly as long as you might imagine.
Then again, this doesn’t really apply to you since you’re not talking about power-leveling.
Hopefully, players with more experience at leveling Alternates quickly will give you more useful tips and suggestions than I can.
My first impression would be no. I rarely play an Alternate Character. I DO play alternate builds. If I play an Alternate with Sets, I would not spend time leveling a Legacy of Dreams. I would only concentrate on that build’s equipped Gems.
The Yes answer to that would be: If my Alternate was going to be my Crusader, I like playing the LoD Bombardment build. In that case, I would take the time to level the LoD to Rank 28 using my Demon Hunter. Then, I would let my Crusader finish leveling it up with his other equipped Gems.
Side Note: My Crusader is used to craft, enchant and reforge items for my Demon Hunter’s Templar. So, leveling up my Crusader is not necessary and just something I do… when I feel like it and have the energy.
Thanks for your elaborations!
Really appreciated.
Yep, Perusoe has the gist of it.
A year back, I power leveled someone to Paragon 600 within an hour doing that. I was hoping to get them to 800 but the XP wasn’t as good as I had imagined at GR 110.
Anyway, you don’t need a maxed out LoD to use it. I mean, a level 25 one will run GR 45 easy enough which is TX equivalent and when you get it around level 40 to 50, GR 70 or 80 is doable with good build. Soon, you’ll have the gem in that range as well.
Now, not all LoD builds can do a GR 100, DH is notorious for not having a good LoD build. But that said, I’m working on a LoD Fan of Knives build that I think can do GR 100. I mean, before LoD was a thing, there was a Fan of Knives build that maxed out around GR 100 using 2-piece Shadow (for the damage multiplier)/2-piece Marauder (with Karlei’s Secret for the defense).
This build I’m working on has a maxed LoD and would use Strafe to move around and lots of defensive items so it can get in the midst of big pulls to let a FoK off at 30 stacks on Lord Greenstones Fan (LGF) and the lightning cycle of CoE.
I intend to give it a go once I get all my legendary gems to around 120 or so.
So, basically you wanna do a LoD FoK build. It used to be one of the stronger LoD builds back in the day (with Shi-Mizu though).
I was thinking about something like this this season, but I would add a spender into the mix. Sadly, even with LoD bonus, strafe is really not dealing a lot of damage itself.
Should have known it wouldn’t be an original idea. Not that I was going to use Shi-Mizu. lol
I should have remembered the build you’re talking about though. The build I was talking about was much older than that and was around the time I first came to the boards some 10 years ago or something like that.
