My feelings on that theme are from experiencing it. You kinda had to be there.
Things can always look better when someone puts together a video. It also matters when that video was made as they nerfed the effects several weeks in after many, many complaints.
Well, when the vomit is the screen flashing every minute and a half, I quickly got a headache from it. Normal gameplay does not do that to me. I leave the sound on, so I can hear for goblins. The chronic moaning when the effect was going to happen got very annoying very fast.
The actual mechanics of the Theme may have actually been fun to play with, but having to deal with all the audio/visual vomit turned me off to the Theme real quick. Even though they did heavily nerf the effects later on, I already had a bad taste in my mouth and a pounding headache, so for PTSD reasons, I didnât come back to the season.
They are fine to repeat the Theme and probably will. It will simply be one I skip which is fine because I have other things I can do.
Everyoneâs version of fun is different. It is nice we have a wide variety of Themes for people to enjoy. Some I play more, some I play less as with most players. Variety is a good thing.
Free RoRG is just a lesser version of 4th cube slot.
LON (free or not) is less than LOD. LON only applies to ancients, LOD also to normal legendaries (at least with half benefit).
And a LON season would be useless for anyone not wanting to play a LON build, most of which are inferior to set builds anyway. So this would scare away most of the few people still playing.
The only good thing about the LoN season was the ease of leveling (before the Altar). Get a few ancient legendaries and you were golden until you got the set you wanted if you wanted to keep your Gift for a secondary character, that is.
Iâm thinking, that if Season 34 lasts 86 days, that weâll find out what the next Theme is on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 5:00 PM PDT/CEST/KST. (Whether itâs a different, recycled Theme or the âloopâ begins).
Free paragon allocation and a paragon cap (very short season for me)
Massacre bonus
Season of audio/visual vomit (auto skip for me)
Free LoN (doubt it)
Free RoRG (doubt it)
Triune circles (seriously doubt as it is part of the Altar)
Double bounties (seriously doubt as it is part of the Altar)
Double goblins (seriously doubt)
so 8 possible left with only 3 of them being very probable in my opinion.
We never know what Blizzard is going to do until they do it⌠No matter what they âsayâ.
But, my statement above was inaccurate. Because, if Blizzard stays on (their usual) schedule, we should know what the Season 35 Theme is by Friday, April 18, 2025 or possibly the 20th. Time unknown. (If Season 35 starts on April 25th).
Well, when they introduced the paragon cap it also had free allocation for the 800 paragon points as well as the Visions. They could just throw the cap with free paragon allocation as a theme. Probably not and hopefully not. It would definitely be a theme I would play very little.
I remember hearing 5 and 10 themes, back in the day before season 30, that will be recycled. Though I donât know if it will be a randomly chosen cycle or a pattern that can be followed. Since season 35 would be the 6th theme, maybe they will stop at 10?
Season of audio/visual vomit (sincerely hope not)
paragon cap with free paragon distribution (also had Visions as the theme)
free RoRG (kinda doubt it)
free LoN (kinda doubt it)
double bounties (seriously doubt it as it is part of Altar now and a boring theme)
double goblins (seriously doubt it as it would be an extremely boring theme)
All the remaining themes have been permanently added to Seasons (the Altar, ENs, follower revamp), or have been added to the Altar, thus making them a permanent part of the game (Triune Circles).
Realistically, we will get 1 or 2 more leaving us at 8 rotating themes. This would give us each them once approximately every 2 years.
While weâre at it, season 21 had so many complaints back then, that they actually gave double bounties mid season to compensate. At this point, I am expecting the lowest effort on behalf of blizz, since they canât be bothered to write a correct sentence in the new season update, so I wonât be surprised if some of the themes (if not all) you mentioned return.
