No, you can do it in adventure mode.
For the rainbow , easiest way is to remake the game until you see the Mysterious cave bounty. It should be there on the first level in a Myseterious chest. No need to go down to lvl 2
the gibbering needs a bit more luck, you’ll have to find the caverns of frost lvl 2 and kill the mob likely multiple times.
