Linking mouse-buttons as secondary keybinding... how?

A little while ago, I tried a Challenge Rift - playing as somebody else’s wizard. It was an odd, yet effective build - she’d somehow set it up so that whenever she used either her primary or secondary attack, it would also trigger her Meteor-spell, effectively raining wide-area havoc on a constant basis. Good fun.

Think is, I’ve got a DH build in mind where something similar could be quite handy, but I cannot for the life of me figure out HOW it’s done. PRESUMABLY it involves setting up the keybindings so that the relevant Action Bar Skill has the mouse-buttons as secondary keys, but it doesn’t seem like the settings will ACCEPT the mouse-buttons in this regard. Is there some trick to it that I’m unaware of, or was it just done in a different way altogether?

Most likely, the player was using an etched sigil off-hand and that is what was dropping the meteors when another skill was channeled.
There is no legal way to make 2 skills fire off of one button press. That is against the ToS and considered cheating.

Ah, see, I’d considered that, but… it doesn’t make sense. I can’t say for absolute certain that she wasn’t using an Etched Sigil, but even if she was, that’d only explain the SECONDARY dropping extra meteors. Several secondaries are channellers, after all. But primaries aren’t, and I’m fairly certain that she hadn’t slotted anything weird into the primary slot. And yet, those non-channeling primary-attacks were dropping meteors too.

A guy I did the rift with said it was probably a ‘macro’, but there’s no way something like that would get copied into a Challenge Rift, right? >_> Nor would any other third-party tool be copied. It has to be something internal…

Tal Rasha wizard set also auto-casts meteors. All it needs is for you to damage an enemy with an elemental attack so it can result from any of your skill buttons.

I’m aware - my own Wizard runs a Tal Rasha - Etched Sigil set, so I’m familiar with those features. I’m also familiar with the relevant cooldowns. Whatever was going on with THIS wizard, it wasn’t that. The meteors were coming way too fast - Meteor Shower rune, and there were literally 2-3 of them going on AT A TIME. They’ve got a duration of 'bout 3 seconds, and Tal Rasha’s bonus meteors have a cooldown of 8 seconds for each type. Sure, for Etched Sigil, it makes sense, except - once again - it wasn’t limited to channeling.

…well, other than it being a perplexing mystery, I suppose it’s all rather irrelevant. I had assumed that it was merely a matter of fiddling with the keybindings, but apparently the general gist of it is that it had to have been some kind of strange interaction of skills, gear and Legendary passives. There’s no way to make my DH’s primary attacks trigger Rain of Vengeance whenever it comes off cooldown. Ah well.

Haunt of Vaxo with stun skills?

…how is that supposed to work? >_> Vaxo-clones have randomized skillsets and the effect has a thirty-second cooldown…

What effect does In Geom have on the 8 second Tal Rasha cooldown?

All I can say is that your hypothesis that the CR came with some sort of new key binding magic is not feasible. CRs can’t change your keybindings. They can come with a default binding of skills to skill slots, but not keys to skill slots.

Etched sigil will cast any secondary skill on your skill bar. if you have 3 secondary skills will cast the 3 skills
