Was playing with a group, and they were doing GR’s in the 80’s to power level me and allow me to get items that I need.
Went back to do my own single player game (Seasonal character) and completed a level 70 GR but no Primal Ancient item dropped on the unlock.
Also, the achivement was showing up in my stats for this season from when I was with the group. I haven’t played much this season and finally caught up. but this bug had happend. Is there anything I can do? because if the award is “unlocked” it is for the type of character; e.g. Seasonal, normal, hardcore as they are all different.
So what can be done please?
Nope.
The achievement, the unlocking and the 100% guaranteed primal are as a result of a solo GR70 (or higher) so it’s not possible you got this in a group.
If you already had the achievement, you’d already done a GR70 solo. The guaranteed primal is once per season, per account, per region, per mode (softcore / hardcore), i.e. not per hero.

Then, as Meteorblade stated, you’ve already unlocked Primal item drops.
You can confirm this if you have the Achievement The Primal Soul-o and your Blood Shard cap is ≧ 1200.
I completed Season 22 on the Americas and the Europe Regions. I’m currently working on the Europe Region with a Hardcore Demon Hunter. (Got her killed once already). I’m being cautious with her now, so I still haven’t unlocked Season 22 Primal drops yet.
My current Blood Shard cap is 900. This is what my Season Achievement looks like:
Once you have that, you’re done for this Season.
A question for you: Aren’t Hardcore and Normal separate? If my Hardcore DH unlocks Primal items, will they drop when I start working on my Normal Characters? (I always thought you had to unlock them with Normal Characters and Hardcore Characters separately?)
