Im 70 wizard but it still tells me to do a greater rift solo challenge rifts are not showing up
Then do a GR first, even if it is just a level 1 GR.
You have to finish a GR first before you can do a challenge rift.
I completed a greater rift but I ran out of time but completed it anyway but it is still locked
hmm, then maybe you have to finish it in time.
I never ran into this issue, but you only have to do it once per region, than they are unlocked forever on that account on that region.
Turn down the rift levels a bit and it should work.
Ok thx I appreciate it
no problem, you are welcome!
Then you DIDN’T complete it.
The point of completing a greater rift is to finish it IN TIME.
Your current profile shows 12 paragon. Get that number up first before worrying about doing a GR70 solo. Get some much better gear, also. What you are wearing isn’t going to get the job done. Start slow and the higher levels rifts you do, higher levels will start showing as being available. Don’t forget, you have to do Nephalem Rifts to gather the keystones to open GRs (throwing that out there bc you say GRs aren’t showing up?).
I think you misunderstood. He’s not trying to do a GR70 solo, he’s trying to unlock Challenge Rifts. You need to do a GR (any GR) on your account before you unlock challenge rifts. And apparently you need to complete it in time.
Might actually be worthwhile since OP would get some materials out of the challenge rift. On the other hand, if they struggle and take some time to complete the challenge rift, that’s time they could have spent on their actual character progressing instead of wasting time struggling to clear the challenge rift.
Depending on the week, a brand new player might struggle to the challenge rift, since they aren’t all that familiar with the game mechanics and how to play the builds, how to efficiently clear rifts etc.
So I’d agree, it’s probably still better for OP to get some experience with the game doing some other rifts before attempting the challenge rift as a new player.
No ‘apparently’ about it - you DO have to complete it in time. And I think you misunderstamd (and him also) I believe he is talking about doing the GR 20 solo ‘challenge’ as part of the season journey. He’s not entirely clear - he mentions ‘greater rifts solo challenge’. Greater Rifts and Challenge Rifts are two separate things.
Punctuation is a good thing.
I believe OP was referring to being locked out of Challenge Rifts due to not having successfully completed a Solo GR.
It’d sure be nice if we didn’t have to go to a third party site to find this out (outside of this thread). Even I didn’t know of that limitation as it is not in the blog that revealed the challenge rifts when they came out. It’d be nice if it were on the Blizzard game guide, but last I checked it wasn’t, though I can’t check now because almost everything in the game guide gives a 500 Internal Error message (i.e. it’s entirely borked).
For this, try clearing cookies and cache on the browser. It should prompt for your birthday again. This fix the issue for me.
Thanks. That fixed it. I forgot just how badly the old site munges cookies, especially when being transferred from the new site to the old site. Thankfully Firefox made it easier to clear cookies and cache than in older pre-Quantum versions. Sure wish they’d fix the cursor bug with Discourse though. I have to tab out and back in to get a working cursor whenever I reply. Annoying it is, yessssssss.
I use Firefox and I have never seen that issue… Odd.
