Legendary Useless Item(s) šŸ‘

Not to put down Blizzard/Diablo3 but i’m going out on a limb and say I’ve got more creativity in my pinky finger than these guys when it comes to creating ā€˜new ideas’.

So - what i would like you to do is list an item in D3 that you find useless, like, absolutely can’t do anything with. Post the name or link here and i’ll find ā€˜a way’ to make it work (if i could make changes that is).

I feel the same, I think the D3 community can dish out more and better ideas than the D3 devs tbh.

I got a useless legenadary item for you. Holy Beacon. It’s a Monk’s amulet. Doesnt really do anything. What powers do you think would best fit this item?

Holy skills deal [15 - 20]% more damage per hit. Can be stacked 50x (20%x50=1000%)

**That would easily be equipped by Tempest rush monk (if it was changed)

Care to give an example?

Bezoar Stone - a monk Spirit stone with no legendary affix.

It says ā€œThis stone has passed through much to attain its magical properties.ā€

So - how do we make that ^ into a ā€˜something’. lol

Legendary Effect: All Mantra’s are given and all of them are permanently active.

Craftable sword:

Griswold’s Masterpiece (Level 60) and Griswold’s Perfection (L70).

Level 60 version has attack speed and knock back on it.
Level 70 version has base fire damage and random magical properties.

The type of base damage no longer has a function, so that should be removed. Who cares if it’s only fire vs. it being random damage type.

The level 60 version should be pure random abilities. No one is going to use it at level 60 anyway.

The level 70 version should have the increased attack speed and damage vs. elites on it with 3-4 random effects and (again) random base damage. That sounds more like perfection than just random stuff.

Even then, that’s generic and will not really serve much of a purpose. The only thing I can think of would be to make it into a Crusader weapon. However, I am not really a fan of Crusaders so I don’t know what skill/build it should affect.

Even better would be the craftable 2-handed Mighty Weapon for the Barbarian.

Level 60: Unending War. +3-4% damage and 494-674 life per hit.
Level 70: War of the Dead, Base damage and random effects.

First, I would swap the names. After that, I am at a loss. Before all of the changes, I would say maybe fury regen, or buff Wrath of the Berserker, or lower the CDR on Wrath of the Berserker, maybe do something to make Overpower or Revenge viable. Don’t know. I am sure someone out there with a better imagination than me can come up with something really fun and useful.

Doesn’t help at all (in most cases), unless you like dealing less damage and getting less Hatred or LoH.

I get a lot of gray/damaged items.
I don’t have posting/linking privileges to show them, but I’m certain others get those too.

I always post the items in chat in game to show the few people who continue to populate the server.

Few players LUL at me when I do so, and some post their legendary items immediately after – I guess to dig daggers(?).

I wish I could take these gray items and create something impressive out of them. Then I would show them that I have the last LUL.

Calamity:

Blackthorne Set:
2 set:
Halve the cooldown and double the legendary effect of your ā€˜potion’.
3 set:
Ancient ā€˜Potions’ can be used two times within 10 seconds (without refresh the cooldown).
4 set:
Triple your damage after using a ā€˜potion’ for 5 seconds.

Hellfire Ring:
Each ā€˜Passiv’ from you increase the damage from legendary gems by 75-100 %.

Spectrum:
Doubles/Triples your highest ā€˜static’ elemental damage.

the only thing these are good for is crafting mats. Could something be done to make them better or even useful in another way. sure. nothings impossible.

Description: Carved to evoke the power of the great tusked pack beasts of the Teganze.
How you could change this is have it buff pets since it referenced ā€œbeastsā€ in the description.
So - All minions/pets cause knock back and carve/area damage.
You could also change ā€œsacrificeā€ to not kill the zombie dog. That’ would be great.
How that would benefit? You get a 10% power boost already when you use sacrifice stackable up to 5x for a 50% boost. if you never have to wait for a zombie dog to respawn you could have a perma boost. You could also have that item increase the damage buff to like 100% per stack to 500%. It’d be awesome. imo. lol.

Wizzardspike, not completely useless but it’s proc is not correct, it states
ā€œPerforming an attack has a 20–25% chance to hurl a Frozen Orbā€
In reality it is around 10%, and by the way its worded should not be the case…

Moonlight Ward can use the old planned buff to arcane bonus from 20-25% to 30-40%, maybe some buff to the ability as well… Enemies damaged by it to deal 10% less damage or something. The ability itself to count as arcane orb?

I would also like to see some useless bracer have orange text reading:
ā€œYour item abilities that deal damage deal 200-250% moreā€ (2-2.5 times)

They could bump that all the way to 100% and it’d still be marginal, hahaha
