Legendary scrap all

You know, this is the #1 thing above all else I wish would be added to the game. I know that won’t ever happen, but sometimes I really wish it would. So tiresome to click each and every individual legendary to scrap it all the time. Especially when some enmities give you 2-3 bags full.

Somehow all my items equipped were marked as junk. So funny.

Ya, if they actually added it, it would have to just apply to normal legendaries and not do ancient or Primals. About 2 or 3 days in the season, I generally stop looking at regular legendaries.

A few players have been asking for this since July, 2019. Maybe longer.

Do you know how many posts we’ve received, some in the Bug Report Forum, because a player “accidentally” salvaged a Legendary item they wanted to keep? And that  was from salvaging one at a time.

It wouldn’t bother me (much) if Blizzard decided to add this as a feature. But, I’m not holding my breath.

Rapid fire click, enter, click, enter, click, enter… works for me (on PC at least) so the lack of a salvage all doesn’t bother me.

What I’d like to see in the game is a method to bulk buy from Kadala like WoW has. Something like Shift+Click will fill the entire inventory with the item.

That’s right. Over the course of years they have heard so many case complaints about accidental salvage and account roll back demands for it back in classic Diablo 3 times. That confirmation box was put there to protect the user AND reduce the complaints that keep their support busy whole day. They won’t change it any time soon.

I would still like to see a small feature about that to be added instead though. It hardly changes anything, but when I drag and drop any Legendary or Set item on the salvage button of Blacksmith manually, it should not bring up the confirmation box and salvage it right away. There’s no user error here, I intentionally brought that item and held it over the fireplace icon; it should bypass the confirmation regardless of grade of the item I want smelted.

Just hover over the each item with Salvage icon, left click and tap enter. It is intentionally tiresome to limit you, but it’s still rewarding. You are the one to decide when to slow down and push yourself. Just memorize the area that it spawned then pay a visit there after you finished the bounty; it’ll be there.

Let a single Enmity sit there as you finish the bounty then return back to it instead of diving right away. Especially when you are closer to returning an Act reward for Caches, you better consider giving a break to entering Visions. You’ll save yourself some effort that way.

You pay attention, or find it again?

We’ve all done it.

Just cheat like people on twitch. But yeah people do be cheating

Definitely would love this as an addition. Some other options I would like to see are:

Recipe 2, auto-reforge until ancient/primal.
Mystic, pick an affix and auto-reroll until it comes up.

Sitting there clicking a reroll button and cursing at the screen for up to 30 minutes is not engaging gameplay.

I’ve manually salvaged valuables. I don’t think there is much difference.
I quickly scan all items I got, cube, stash, salvage. Typically I review while salvaging.

There is a point though where I don’t even blink with normal legs.
I think that’s silly. I suppose it’s the same eventually for everyone. Non-primal = junk.

The only point of the current system is to mask two problems.

  • You need a gazillion of mats, including Forgotten Souls (leg salvage mat)
  • There is so much creep and interaction, there is no mix-match anymore, you are either a 150gr monster or the usual 40gr casual (that would be me), and to keep people happy during the first 3 hours of seasonal grind, it just rains legs - like in KFC

“OMG, it salvaged my trifecta squirts that I was carrying in the inventory, how do I get it back?”

as funny as these are, and as unfortunately real as they would be
honestly it would be user error. They can only be mad at themselves lol.
Like, it ain’t hard to just scan your legendaries and put the ones you want to keep either in stash or just toss on the ground as you salvage the rest.
I know to the type that unironically is like that logic doesn’t apply though…

Yeah, I have a bit mixed feelings on this. It’s annoying to go through and salvage a full inventory over and over, no doubt. But the risk of accidentally salvaging valuable things with a salvage all button is very real (I’d do myself for sure), and just because it’s a user error doesn’t mean it’s good interface design. I’d probably still take the salvage all option, but maybe better would be some kind of interface where you could hold down mouse button and drag over all the items you want to salvage, instead of salvage all. Maybe in D3R. :stuck_out_tongue:

My point with the comment on squirts was that only salvaging non-ancients doesn’t remove the issue of accidentally salvaging valuable items, although it does reduce it.

Not necessarily. Designs that encourage user error are bad designs (e.g., +12VHPWR connectors). When a design is so bad that it actively causes user error, either by defect or by omission of warnings/instructions, then the design needs to be changed. The inverse is true as well - if a user becomes complacent when given warnings, then the fault lies in their allowing themselves to become complacent. The tedium is what generates the complacency, or in this case, just a numbness to the warnings that an action will destroy the item permanently. But a salvage all feature can be designed with configurable thresholds that the user can set and still require something like holding down the mouse button or salvage keybind for X seconds, which would still be much faster than the current method while making the player pause somewhat and be reminded about what they’re doing.

Well, this goes all the way back to 2012. People have been freaking out since the game was created because they salvaged or sold (when gold actually had value) something they wanted to keep.

There is already a warning. If people are sloppy or careless, it is on them. To be fair, with the millions of people who have played this game, the amount of complaints are very, very, very small in comparison. For the ones who are terrified about accidentally salvaging or are just careless in general, there would still be the salvage one at a time option.

Fact is, I personally have salvaged something I wanted to keep several dozen times over the years. I never felt the need to come to the forums to complain for a change or to get my item back. I failed. Life lesson. It was on me.

Lol you reminded me of when i lost my best in slot 5-perfect rolled gloves for LOD necro, and i didnt know rollback existed back then, didnt bother to even ask anyone

tri perfect is worth nothing, quad perfect is something

Just for the record; I’m sure Cascade means three perfect affixes plus a socket. So four in all.

Ah 3 + rerolled one, fair, but still its not actually rare.

Try getting that on ancient/primal , thats +1 to perfection count for me at least.
Getting some other items (not squirt) where you need the legendary affix perfected is +1 to perfection.
On some items you really need the “secondary stat” rolled perfect too.
Some items also have more stats than other items, like the quivers for dh,
ie. marauders quiver for cluster arrow, they get 3 random stats, +3 default stats to roll + dexterity + legendary affix.
While getting primal deals with the 4 possible stats, still getting “primal dquad perfect + rerolled dexterity” quiver for marauder is not equal to tri-perf squirt, squirts are much more common than lets say “8 perfect+rerolled dexterity out” bombardiers rucksack or even the mentioned primal +3+rerolled (kind of counts as quad, kind of Could be like 8 perf if it was ancient)

anyway for the item i salvaged because of doing routine too fast … i cant remember if it had secondary stat perfected too but it kindof left a mark in my memory loosing an item right before i wanted to caldessan it, “am just gonna put that here, only 2 gr runs and caldessan those” For sure it was 5 perfect in my count + rerolled the dexterity out.
Not sure if it was 6 perf (because of secondary affix), LOD nova necro kind of wants +2 yards on gloves for speedrun purpose
