Legendary Gems level

How can I advance my Legendary gems to new level, most of my gems are at between 100 -123, I solo abit these day. The highest gr i can comfortably clear is 120 or 121.

Thanks

Although small you have a chance to upgrade your current gem as long as the Greater Rift tier and gem level are not too far apart. If gem level is higher than Greater Rift tier, then your chances of upgrade will diminish down. Once that gap is around 16+, your chance of upgrading that gem becomes zero.

My advice to upgrade gems is; taking a step back then hit it, rinse and repeat. If highest you hit is 121, then reduce it down to GR118-119 and try to squeeze a few more levels with reduced chance. If your gems are around 120-123, finishing GR118 should grant you 15-30% chance on your gem upgrades.
If you can clear GR121 as speedfarm in 5-7 minutes, then go for that. Just be sure to have efficient clears for maximizing experience game so you can squeeze some experience rewards from all of this.

However, I wouldn’t get fixated on gem level at this point. You’ll do much better if you grind speedfarms and focus on optimizing your build to clear a higher Greater Rift. You can always step back and hit slightly lower Greater Rifts than your highest push, but this could be tiresome if RNG is not on your side.

I don’t know what your main character is as you have several season heroes. You GoD demon hunter should be good for going a good deal higher. Especially if you follow the advice from one of your earlier threads to get cold on your bracers and hungering arrow on pants. Then you can do some higher GR runs to get your main gems up to that level and then return to lower GR levels for general farming purposes.
At a certain point in time you can even go with 1% chances if you are just paragon farming and also have a lot of unspent gold.

Doing 120s you can get your gems up to 136 but its 1% rolls so will take a long time to get there.

Or group up if you can and do higher content.

Exactly true. So it’s probably best to get the gem as high as possible with 60% chances (like to 131 if you can barely manage a 130 GR), and then you can go down to speed GRs and 1% chances.

You have almost 2k paragon, so you should be able to get a character up to gr140 with a little skill and a minimal fishing. Pick the build you are comfortable with that has a bunch of 150 clears on the LB’s, and get better gear. Decently rolled ancients with 125 augments should get you into the 140 range.

Another option is learn to play a zdps. 2000 paragon and the right gear and knowledge and you should be fine zdps’ing up to GR150.

Any build is capable of GR 130 Casual farming. You can try increase GR lvl at a comfortable pace, up to about 135 ish. At 134, technically speaking gems can be 1% till rank 150 but i don’t think players practise it anymore post GR 150 era after 2019.

Run with others that are higher up in paragon and level that is easiest way.
Cheers!

thanks everyone for the advise, btw what is a zdh? where can i find the build ?
Thanks again.

Short for zDps Demon Hunter. The zDPS or zero-dps, are support role specs. In a 4-man group play where meta is always 2 supports and 2 high dps; ZDPS builds only focus on group buffs and none of the damaging offense attractions. Their duty is to provide buffs for dps characters to clear quickly by keeping monsters crowd controlled, pulling aggro, upkeeping defensive buffs and paving the way in some sort of sense.
In GR150 group clears with 4-man, Supports play a major role with keeping buffs and debuffs. Although they can extend away from the rest of the group sometimes, they can not fall too far from the team; lest without buffs the glasscannon DPS roles might die quickly.

You can check maxroll or icy-veins guides. There are more than one variant and the specs described at different guides really have noticable differences from each other. Read about it then decide for yourself. For other details, ask here at the forums again.

If you want a quick way to see the zdh build being used:

right click on your character
select “view leader boards”
change to 4 player
right click on the dh
select “view hero details”

Note: there can be some variants based on paragon, so you can always check the bottom 900 for dh’s around your paragon.
