Legacy of Dreams Trade off

Legacy of Dreams is -7,5% more weak than LoN, so this is a basic trade off for 2 more ring legendaries? is it worth that a lot?

I mean trade 1 gem for 2 rings, I know LoD you dont need ancient but how worth is it. I’m waiting for the builds on Icy Veins

It is not weaker. It starts off at 7.5% and rank 0.

If you take it to rank 99, it has 742.5% added onto that starting 7.5% or 750%.

It is a weird one since it ends at rank 99, but it does match LoN at max level.

The trade is two more ring slots and the ability to use non-ancient items versus 1 used legendary gem slot and not having to level it.

What about combining LoD with LoN? Trade off those two LoD slots for gaining an extra set of bonuses with LoN? I’m wondering how that would work out.

You can’t combine them. LoD only works when you have no active set bonuses.

Well damn…so much for my great idea.

hahaha I tought about that and its pretty decent trade off since you can have for example you can equip 3 rings 1 cubed and 2 as your equip

for instance. you can equip convention of elements and Krysbin sentence

The actual trade-off is that you need to sacrifice a gem slot in order to be able to more effectively play builds that should be viable from the get-go.

The LoD gem should be able to get socketed everywhere, not just in jewelry to make up for that.

The gem is more powerful then any 3rd Gem you could equip if going the LoN route. CoE alone pretty much covers the loss of the 3rd gem. BotT is 60% at rank 150. CoE if not caring about rotations is ~50% increase. Gaining 2 ring slots over 1 gem slot is better in terms of gearing options. Either between gaining either damage and/or survivability between the 2 rings outweighs what you get from that 3rd gem.
Also remember that until you get fully ancient’ed out, the gem provides more bonus then the LoN rings at max gem level.

Not to mention IF you need that 3rd gem, you still have the LoN rings option.

Its a shame that a mandatory LoD gem takes away the ability to play around with different gem combos.

Trapped is mandatory in pretty much every other build and that leaves u with one gem slot, and if you are pushing its gonna be Stricken most likely so you dont really have any choice left

I’m leaning more and more toward either a 4th slot in the cube or some sort of ‘Legacy Gem’ slot, for things like this.

Could also satisfy everyone’s ‘legacy from the previous season’ itch. You can pick 1 thing from the cube, but it cannot be class specific it has to be a general item any class can use, and that is the effect you benefit from the following season right out the gates. There may need to be a limiting threshold to this (para 600 or pass gr70 whichever comes first) and then that slot greys out the rest of the season, I dunno. I’m tired and rambly

I really like this idea. I tried running my LoN Blessed Shield sader last night with the LoD gem and it didn’t go well. Trapped, Stricken and Pain Enhancer are mandatory for that build, but on the flip side, so are the 3 rings (COE, JL, and Unity).
I don’t see the build working outside the LoN season even with the LoD gem.
If I could switch a diamond to for the gem, that would work really well.

2 ring slots are worth more than 1 gem i.m.o. which makes LoD the better choice. If there are any builds which can’t make good use of even 1 of the extra ring slots, i would be surprised.

It would be nice if they just make it where Legendary gems have a Unique 3 Factor and can be equipped anywhere so that ring sockets arn’t so mandatory.

But just having the LoD gem only do it would be really unbalanced. There’s got to be a trade off from running either the LoN rings or the LoD gem. Theres a lot of talk that the LoD gem is already a very nice buff for LoN sets since gaining the 2 ring slots gives more damage plus allows the use of LoN builds with a low number of ancients due to the gem also giving damage for not just ancients.

I’d say it’s a nice buff for the LoN sets that were already powerful with the LoN rings. Builds that were powerful in the LoN season still won’t be viable because they needed every piece of the pie.

What are the powerful LoN sets outside of the S17? Prob just wiz and necro per usual. LoD buffs wiz and necro and the other builds like Sader BS are left unused because they are too weak to start and can’t give up anything or you run into a problem, such as I did last night while testing it out.

Baby with the bathwater much?

The builds are still perfectly viable, they just had their ceiling lowered a little.

What are you trying to say? Baby with the what?

Hey my all yellow build can clear gr 20. It’s still viable right? it just has a low ceiling. That means it’s viable…

When the average clear for classes is 125+ and a build can’t clear 115, that doesn’t mean it’s viable.

Wizard is clearing 140+. You’re going to tell me a LoN build that caps at 115 is viable? Get outta here troll.

Ya…holding true to your name I see.

Just gonna call this “conversation” over.

Buh-bye now.

Viable just means working well or successfully, it doesn’t mean being in the meta or being one of the strongest builds available. You can still be successful without topping the leader boards.

DId a 6 min GR120 with my LoD Blessed Shield after leveling up the gem. Losing a gem hurts but it’s still quite strong, especially for farming.

Some classes benefit more from it than others.
Necro and Wiz are probably benefiting more than other classes.
