I play from SEA on Asian server avg ping 150 since Aussie I have avg. ping 150. lately I have high ping up to 2k and freezes for up to 5 minutes and after everything runs normal again or I get dropped out the game or kicked by other players. Very unpleasant gaming experience.
Is there some cable or server problems or maintenance work going on lately? Does it have sth. to do with the PTR server?
I found a page how to connect to Aussie server but haven’t found one how to connect to a specific Asian server. How can I always connect to lets say a Taiwanese server? I am assuming that I have the best connection to the closest location.
Also I experienced that during daytime I have usually a better ping than in the evening probably because of more players playing at the same time?! So I want to make sure I always get connected to the closest server available. Sometimes I have the feeling that I get connected to Korean server. Blizzard should get a server in Singapore like they do have for Overwatch, don’t know why there is none. D3 community cannot be that small in SEA.
I also would be very grateful if any Blizzard support staff would be so kind to post a solution since the last time I waited for 14 days and no reply. I stopped checking after that.
There was a server (both TW and KR) problem on 6/12 (Fri), but had been fixed on 6/13.
I’ve just tested on Asia (TW) server. No issue found. I have been playing on Asia realm recently; no issue ever found except 6/12.
Evening is the peak hours, not just gaming but also more internet activities.
There was a notification on a TW ISP website, saying that a cable cut between TW and SG, on April, which may affect users at peak hours. Seems it is still outstanding. Not sure it affects you.

Many thanks for your reply.
I guess then the problem is not fixed 100% because I still get those freezes which I did not have before 12th. Just played 5 minutes and then a freeze for about 2 minutes after that everything back t normal.
I hope they will fix this soon. Really annoying…
The problem seems to be happening when rifting heavy mobs. On average I get 130ms. But when engaging in heavy mobs, its spikes up to 2000ms. Connecting to Asia server from Malaysia.
I have the problem everywhere not related to specific events. Sometimes in town or rift or during bounties.
The problem on 6/12 is an unique problem that gave error code 395002, game termination, data rollback, etc., but NO LATENCY issue. You can read the long thread for details.
Latency issue is more related to network issue.
Try switching to TW (or KR) to see if any improvements.
Run some diagnostics, such as looking-glass, and WinMTR to troubleshoot the network. Post the reports enclosed between two “~~~~” lines in your reply.

So yesterday I had only 1 more freeze but on the Taiwanese server which is located closer to me. I tried the korean one after that and weirdly I get a better ping on that even if its further away. Just some random lag but no further heavy freezes or high pings. I hope they fixed whatever issue they had. Thanks for the help, if more problems pccur I’ll run that WinMTR and post the results here.
