Yeah, that’s another brand I would recommend, but most of their Legion laptops are a bit higher, like the Asus Tuff and RoG ones. Those are in the higher cost for the same performance bracket vs Acer or MSI.
Though all the brands have elite models vs cost effective ones. You really have to look at the numbers and specs and make your decision that way vs the name/brand.

But when I bought it, it was on sale for $700. I then added about $300 dollars worth of upgrades to it to put it back at that price point, but with a lot more headroom.
