Lagging Servers

Will Blizzard do something about their servers?
It seems to become worse and worse from season to season.

There are many other possible reasons why you may be experiencing gameplay lag other than just Blizzards servers. Just to name a few: Your PC, your network configuration, other devices on your network, if your available bandwidth is flooded or not, your ISP, potential issues between your ISP, the backbone you’re traffic is routed through up to Blizzards network.

The gameplay has been fine for me for quite some time.

Been working lag free all season here. Perhaps there’s a problem on your end or with a hop along the way to you?

I normally have no issues. Hell, I rolled HC last season. However, this season seems strange. Characters move funny, mobs get stuck… Sometimes it seems like the server hamsters are falling off their wheels.

Looking at your profile you are not playing D3 as many other players…High GRs in 4p groups are causing regularly massive lags for all players in the group. Sometimes it is unplayable thanks to area damage. This has nothing to do with your PC equipment or internet connection.

Been experiencing the usual Area Damage and the Blue Goblin/Goblin Pack Kill Lag/Freezes. Havent been seeing any other major issue of lags due to seasons or anything like that. I’d suggest maybe checking your computer and/or internet for any issues first, then if your feeling pretty confident that its not your end try to contact blizz tech support and see from there. Good luck.

Nothing to do with the OP either. He doesn’t say anything about high GRs and the lag you professionals experience in your 4-mans.

It has plenty to do with the OP and his general, non-specific complaint. You may want to read the body of the post before drawing your own conclusions.

Yes it does because how many people out there play on older computers. Plus try to play it on a Laptops. 90% of it has to do with both of those.

That is what this game is about to these people. If you are not running GR’s 110, 120, or above you not playing the game right.

I have been here from day one have 3 accounts. 2 our mine and 1 is my grand daughters. I don’t get any Lag 99% of the time . Yes everybody does get lag once in awhile.

I think, perhaps, you have this backwards.

Unless you’re playing high level GRs, most likely in a group, where some of the heroes have Area Damage, you won’t see the lag that is being described. The issue is easy to see in videos of high-end clearances, especially solo ones, and the limiting factor is the server-side damage calculations, not the client-side animations of that damage. This is why, in videos / streams of high-end GR solo clearances, you’ll often see the player press Escape so they’re at the menu screen. This pauses the client, whilst allowing the server-side calculations to catch up, and when they un-pause from the menus, they can continue to do damage.

That was a jab at the poster. Plus I understand about what is going on with the area damage lag.

Where does the OP say any thing about lag in GR’s

OK Here is example I play two accounts at the same time. The laptop I use has a i7 CPU, 16gb of memory and 1gb video card. It lags all over the place. The computer I use at the same time plays fine no lag.

How many people out there play on Laptops, and computers that just meet the min requirements for the game. Then come here and complain about Lag!!!

Plus do you ever notice after you Quote me on something. I never come back to reply. Because the KING of the forum has spoken and why waste my time. Plus I will not come back to read this and reply. DONE!!!

Well tonight alone I got kicked like 5 times… “Game Terminated” x2 (no error code just says “Game Terminated”), “Unable to Authenticate License”, “1016”, and a couple of crashes to desktop when I spawned too many of the buggy shadow dudes in a cow level…

So you are saying in 3 or 4 man play north of 125-130 when you click a pylon…that it doesn’t lag all 4 players out until they die or for a full minute until the clones are done…hmmm.
Even the Danctuary podcast two weeks ago of both NA and EU players were asking Blizz to turn off the clones since they do not do much of anything above 125 except lag your game out.

Been playing almost lag-free on PS4 all season. I quit PC less than 24 hours in because of the constant disconnects. They did maintenance which may or may not have corrected the issue, so before anyone calls me on that…yes, I understand that the issue is known and is being worked on.

The trouble is…it’s too little too late. I’m not ditching almost a month of progress to try PC again. I’m going to go with whatever platform fills my needs.

That’s the thing. The OP never said word one about any of that.

I’m guessing there will soon be a rework of area damage with all of the complaints about it causing freezing/stuttering. Or they can upgrade their 2nd gen Xeon systems with some new Epyc systems to better handle the maths.
