Figured I’d make a topic cause people keep asking where they said it. PezRadar posted it in a comment on reddit. Follow the link to see.

“Ladder Runewords will be available in SP.”
hmm thats nice. Because last thing stated was no on this by the people running the social media stuff. Thats nice
Now to convince them to add TCP/IP back in so I can just play LAN with my brothers until ladder is launched.
Can you clarify what single player means? The term is a bit confusing in this context. Does it mean if you play in a multi player game, ladder runewords don’t drop or does single player simply mean non-ladder?
SP meaning single player, so offline, as far as we know. They haven’t said if they can be made on non-ladder, I’m assuming they can’t be though. (So only on single player mode is what I mean, not battle.net)
Yes, this will be my assumption, as well.
Adding them to single player= no big deal
Adding them to Nonladder on bnet= A huge freaking massive gameplay changing deal.
I’m not familiar with all the different game modes in D2R, can you please elaborate between single player and non ladder? Does single player mean not needing to connect to b.net to play which means cross progression also doesn’t work in this mode? Also, this is the game mode where we can import old D2 saves to the game and potentially have hacked items?
I’ll believe it more if I see it on these forums, but it does spark hope.
Yes, that’s exactly what it means. Non ladder is on battle.net, but think of it as like non-seasonal on D3. Single Player is offline solo play.
Single Player = Offline mode play
Non-Ladder = Standard mode online using battle.net
Ladder = Otherwise known as Seasons in Diablo 3, a timed resetting mode with additional features and tougher gameplay. For D2, there are a number of runewords and horadric cube recipes that can be made on ladder, as well as a number of unique items that only drop on ladder.
Thanks for the explanation ARTPOP and TanisGunthar. I get it now.
This is fantastic news. Only downside is we no longer get to see SP bricked ladder RWs.
That is certainly a good news for solo players.
Unfortunately, for me, it’s not good enough. The the most important part of the game is creating the build I want, even if it takes many months. But being “forced” to acquire the proper items or runes within a timeframe is something I don’t really enjoy.
That’s a nice change and one of the very few a “toxic purest” agrees with. That and still being able to open cows arfter killing the cow king.
Start playing classic
i wonder why he did not reply in the million threads asking for that in this board
must be some kind of loop hole they have where its ok to post on reddit but not on official blizzard forums.
Still waiting for them to add tcp/ip again.
