Act V, Dialogue with Kormak (Templar) “Talking to Erina” has a typo in his second response: “What? that cad…”. Must be ‘chad’.
Are you saying that “cad” is misspelled and it should be “chad”?
If I remember correctly, Kormac is talking about the Scoundrel, Lyndon. Kormac does not like Lyndon because he’s a… well… “scoundrel” and a thief.
Definition – Cad
- A man whose behavior is unprincipled or dishonorable.
- A lowbred, presuming person; a mean, vulgar fellow.
This is NOT a bug.
And, just for comparison:
Definition – Chad
- Chad is a slang term for a sexually successful male, often blond, muscular and athletic. (Originated in the UK).
This does NOT sound like Lyndon at all.
Except when we are talking about Hanging Chads in Florida elections.
Edit: I don’t think ‘cad’ has been in anyone’s vocabulary since the 1930’s.
It was quite common in the literature of the time, e.g. Christie, Sayers, Wodehouse.
Ah then, the voice line should be changed, becasue the voice actor clearly says “chad”
I’m curious now. Was this during the Follower Quest in Act 5 where your Character has Kormac trying to get you to set him up with Eirena?
A couple of weeks ago I ran the Campaign because I was bored and hadn’t done it in a while. Maybe I’ll load up the game and see if I can find that conversation.
Yes, it is one of the final campaign dialogues with the templar
I found it and you are correct.
It’s one of Kormac’s conversations in Act 5. It’s called Talking with Eirena.
The text says, “cad”. But, Dominic Keating (Kormac) says, “chad”.
I’m surprised Blizzard didn’t catch that. I’ve seen videos about the voice actors. Scenes were shown where Blizzard went over the pronunciations of words and names during recording.
In this case “cad” would have been the correct word to use, which is probably why it hasn’t been corrected. It would cost too much to hire Dominic back just to re-record that line. And Blizzard probably thought that no one would ever catch it.
It’s not like it’s a game-breaker.
