I hopped in a random public GR game today. Lvl 95 was picked by someone else I was largely unware of if the team was prebuilt or not but it seemed like nobody knew each other.
Now, we cleared the GR with 12 minutes and 37 seconds remaining which, in my opinion was pretty impressive for a random pickup group.
but the response from one person killed the whole team moral. “Too slow for a 95, key waste.” and said individual left the party immediately after that.
that cascaded and the entire party disbanded while I waited for more people. Normally I kept it to myself and just move on, this post is more or less a reminder to just be nice and if you feel like something is a waste of your time then sure leave, but don’t belittle others and reduce morale by typing out negative opinions like that.
We all have the ability to choose and sure free speech is free, I simply urge others to have a little more empathy and kindness to others even randomly on the net.
At the end of the day we are all human (except the botters :P) “treat others how you’d wish to be treated.”
I don’t know how you can charaterize a simple observation as “negative” just because you didn’t get a warm fuzzy over it. I agree with the one person and note he didn’t call anyone out, or belittle them, or throw tantrums. Seriously, if you’re looking for pats on the back and “everyone’s a winner” comments, this isn’t for you.
I don’t even do Pubs after halfway thru the season. If you’re not a meta dps or one of the supports they don’t want you to join. Then again, it’s easy enough to do gr100 around 90 sec solo and the turnaround time is much faster between runs vs a bunch of randoms. Pubs are generally not nearly as efficient as a group that knows how to run speeds.
I think what a lot of people do is, allow their passions cloud their compassion. There’s a lot of good discussion here, I simply want to spread a little bit of positivity and insight on the forums.
Yea, OP, I am totally with you 100%. I am always amazed at why players feel the need to whine instead of doing the obvious – shutting up and leaving. It’s the safety of hiding behind a keyboard I guess. No one acts this way face to face.
i know for myself. when i join a PUG, (any level or objective) i leave my expectations at the portal. it’s a fking PUG. said “to slow, key waste” needs to either shut it, and form a like minded speed group. or humble themselves into understanding not everyone has the same expectations, gear, class, experience, speeder mentality, or whatever else, as himself. if that person wants to be efficient with key runs, form a party, with players or friends (probably has very few to begin with i would imagine). and rock the times with consistency.
don’t let it get you down op. this game is filled with children who expect the game culture to revolve around streamer mentality and meta. not everyone feels the need to focus down other players who perform at varying levels of play. like what should be found in PUGs to begin with. not everyone who plays d3 or poe fill compelled to make the game a job or look to it as such. 130 sec vs 90? anyone placing so much value on an extra minute … in a game… needs help.
Same but I miss the old days where grouping with some other gamer nerds was a thrill and very enjoyable.
Diablo was so much fun for me, people were mostly pleasant back then, the internet veil hadn’t lured out all the future trolls yet.
I’d even play a crappy game if I knew the players would be cool quite frankly, it’s sad that the gaming environment has left many people feeling they can only play solo.
I wish I could fix that part of the internet, maybe it’ll be like fashion where it comes in cycles and we’ll again one day enjoy non-toxic gaming, here’s hoping!
