Keep mods and hacks out of multiplayer

The finished game should not support mods or hacks in the Multiplayer experience. Real fans of Diablo 2 are fine with the exact intended statistics of skills and items in the game as they are. Mods do not add to the finished product and only taint the fun of the game for those that truly enjoy this game and hackers should be banned for tampering. Keep moding and hacks out of the main Multiplayer experience.

There should most definitely be a secure vanilla multiplayer experience for people to enjoy; however there should be a open counter part that allows modders to develop customized experiences for people that want it.

It would do nothing to you so I don’t get why you would care.

Seeing how Diablo 3 allows moded equipment in the main multiplayer game to pollute the experiences for those who want a real purist experience, how could I believe this main multiplayer would in fact be secure and “VANILLA” if so many people are so upset about mod support?

Mods don’t necessarily make a good game better. If players or code writers want a vastly different experience they should play or make a different game.

No games support hacked items.
They just fail to prevent it.

Mod support has literally nothing to do with multiplayer hacking.

Modding always allow for a good (or bad) game to be better. All games should basically allow mods.
But obviously not in standard multiplayer.

Moding can be good if done right with the the original games intended balance and vision followed i.e. an expansion like Lord Of Destruction was in fact a good Mod, but changes to balance through mods can and will ruin the game if not done with a healthy respect of the original vision of the game in mind.

Moding this game is a slippery slope that could in fact ruin it for true fans. People only interested in mods for there own sake do not really care about this game.

If you could guarantee a secure unmodified main multiplayer I would be fine with your assertion that there should be a separate modable multiplayer, just not at the cost of the REAL game.

You kidding they want cheaters is why they have cross save so they can bring that crap from pc to the console versions so no one gets to play legit.

The original Diablo 2 had mods separated and very few hacks and to this day is more stable then Diablo 3 and it was only on PC. This game could be made to have less modifiable script but that is up to Blizzard to do it right…
