After about two or three minutes of running Diablo 3, I lose my internet connection. I tried so many things to clear up the issue and no luck. Here is what I already tried:
run ipconfig thru cmd with admin and refresh dns, release, renew.
restart computer
restart modem and router
update router
optimize Diablo 3 to run with less demand on bandwidth
tested by connecting direct to modem and no connection loss, but when router is connected there is disconnect....router might be cause but why with just Diablo 3?
Hrm. Nothing I’ve looked at indicates there is a known issue with that model losing internet connectivity when wired connections are used. And having updated your firmware would also have rebooted the router since that’s part of the firmware update process.
You might want to double check that the cables connected to the router are securely inserted. I found out the hard way that internet can be spotty, slow, or just not work properly if the RJ-45 connectors aren’t inserted fully.
I was working on my dentist’s insurance staff computer yesterday upgrading its hard drive to a solid state drive and when I put everything back together, the internet didn’t work at all and the intranet was connecting at a miserably slow pace (just connecting to the server share folders took five minutes). It turns out that there was not just one click, but two clicks when inserting the ethernet connector back into that computer. The strain relief portion of the cable made it look like I had the cable in all the way but I didn’t. After taking it out and pushing harder, I felt a second very solid click and everything was working again.
It sounds like your issue is very similar, so you may have either an improperly inserted connector and/or a damaged connector on one of the cables. It’s a very common occurrence with ethernet cables. They’re finnicky little devils and if you bend one just the right way, the tiny strands that form the conductor break and boom, intermittent or nonexistent signal.
Thank you for your research and advice. I noticed that the desktop computer will keep a connection okay even with Diablo running when directly connected to the modem. However, If I connect to the router it keeps a connection for at least 15 minutes but as soon as (or a minute or two) I start playing Diablo I get kicked off the internet…
I found this posting and will try some of the suggestions.

I love the Engrish too.
Yeah, I had that up on my screen during my research on your issue. I almost sent it to you in the post, but decided that it was essentially pointless since you’d gone through the troubleshooting steps listed in your OP.
If you find that all of the cables are securely connected, you may need to swap cables out to see if one of them is indeed defective. Since you said your computer’s connection directly to the modem works and connecting through the router does not (at least for long), it stands to reason that the cable that connects the router to the cable modem is broken. You can check this by placing another cable in its place. If the problem goes away, you found your simple and inexpensive answer.
If you find that the replacement cable also fails, then the next likely answer is that a power surge has damaged that port and possibly others. If that’s the case, the only solution here is a replacement of the router.
Well connecting directly to the modem fixes the problem so there seems to be something going on with the router. I’ll check on the cable connections as well.
Is good to hear no issue when modem connected directly to computer. I assumed that you tested using different Gigabit Lan connection and different cables cat5e (and up). Have you power cycled the router? Reset router to default? Is router still under warranty?
Have not tested using different cables yet but did power cycle and reset router which is still under warranty. The thing that readers of my post seem to keep missing is that only a certain program (Diablo 3) while connected to the router is causing the disconnection.
dumb questions are you losing internet connection or just disconnecting from diablo…when diablo dc’s can you still open a web page go to youtube etc?
Losing internet connection not just the Diablo server. I think I may have solved it finally. It seems the computer that is causing the disconnect is being DoS attacked.
