Just returned to Diablo 3 (classic) after many years

Hello! I decided to give this game another shot (was bored) and I had quit it at launch after they made inferno mode easier.

I’ve been having a lot of fun since returning, namely playing hardcore at the moment. I was wondering if there are any players out there who still play just the base game without any expansions?

I tried to join a public game but it keeps me in queue for several minutes and then creates a public game, which even after a couple of hours being open, no one joins. Would love to be able to play with other people if there are any.

If you’re talking about the base D3 game with no expac or dlc then you might be the only one playing as such.

With D2/D2R classic you have a game with thousands playing every day.

There’s virtually no one playing without RoS. You’re limited only to very unrewarding campaign mode, acts 1-4, up to T6 difficulty. You’re basically missing all endgame activities.

With the sale still going grap cheap RoS while you can.

Reaper of Souls is on sale 9.99 if you did want it. New season starting tomorrow 5pm PST, so that will get a lot of people playing. Need to start a season character.

Also, good deal here:

You can get Diablo Prime Evil Collection for 19.79 which includes:

Diablo® II: Resurrected™

Diablo® III

Diablo® III: Reaper of Souls™ expansion

Diablo® III: Rise of the Necromancer pack

Mephisto pet for Diablo® III

Hatred’s Grasp wings for Diablo® III

Click on Diablo II: Resurrected, then scroll down.

Man, I hope OP follows your excellent directions and spends $20 for that sweet Diablo Prime Evil Collection package

At this time, Vanilla D3 amounts to no more than a tutorial. So much more added to the game with RoS expansion it’s not even the same game, for all practical purposes.

Why would anyone want to do that?

If you quit at launch of D3 then Inferno was very hard and you current HC hero’s would never last 10 seconds in Inferno.

You above statement makes no sense!

There are people who only play the Leoric run tutorial.

There are people who play the beta even though it is level capped and experience (of the actual game) capped.

Heck, people play Super Mario Bros and skip from World 1-2 to 4 to 8, missing out on 95% of the game.

So, yeah, there are probably some people (or at least one) playing without expansions… especially if they are on PS3.

Funny story:

I have an older Playstation 3 with D3 on it. What’s fun about it is, it doesn’t have any of the new stuff in the game. Its just the older either pre-RoS or just after RoS version. No adventure mode, no cube, none of that. It must be pre-RoS because the gear and character level is capped to 60.

So yeah. I can play near the vanilla version of the game on that console. If I want “classic” D3.

Fun right? lol
