Why only today? Why not at launch?

Because today is where the SEA server launched.

Ahaaaa ok, I get it now.

So they delayed SEA launch until beginning of Season 2. Sound strategy if true.

I do like the portal offered in the Collector’s BP ($15)

I am unimpressed with the single 3 day event for Season 2…I expect at least 20 days worth of Season specific events from mobile games.

It will be interesting to see if your views change once you acrually play the game for awhile and gain first hand experience of tbe predatory p2w monetization.

Stop assuming this is my first mobile ARPG with P2W monetization.

The better wording would probably have been “It will be interrsting to see if your views change once you actually play the game for awhile and hit the hard paywall to really advance your character any further”. Sadly it doesn’t appear to take long for anyone even modestly hardcore to hit.

If he doesn’t

  • binge play
  • rush content
  • compete

He won’t encounter such predation.

Since I never assumed that in the first place, stop assuming what other’s think.

So basically, if he doesn’t actually play the game

Mobile games only made with 2 hours gameplay per day content in mind. If you binge play you won’t enjoy anything at all.

Nah, he can play hours a day if he wants and not hit caps or a pay wall. What he can’t do is compete at end game in PvP type activities. He may also not be able to play the highest difficulty as fast as people who pay.

Won’t stop him from doing the whole campaign, dungeons, mini raid, rifts, bounties, bestiary, sanctum, side quests, server events, zone events, etc. Shadows vs Immortals war though may be an issue. For someone like me who is a solo casual person, it is actually very solid. Lots of fast ARPG monster killing with lots of different content. Way more than D3 as far as activities I can do. At most I can throw $5 at it for a cosmetic if I finish the “Season” and want it.

I hate the end game P2W part, but if he is casual he will likely enjoy it for a while.

It’s absolutely awful game design and the fact other mobile games do it too just makes them bad too.

Just let people grind the damn game

True, you can do the “find 3 things, then hit a level wall, do some repetitive stuff to level up your battle pass and go back to finding more 3 things for npcs from the other games” campaign, spam skeleton king dungeons, and do a bunch of other inneficient activities that are not nearly rewarding enough to be worth it, and hit all your checkboxes of daily processes the game wants you to do.

I’m not trying to invalidate your fun, fun is subjective and I personally have fun with games I consider pointless too (I love incremental games), but I gotta disagree that this is a solid casual experience. Lots of better options for the casual solo enthusiast on mobile and PC alike. With actual content with actual rewards.

Who was the guy said, “gain first hand experience of the predatory p2w monetization” again?

I am basically telling you I have played plenty of games with predatory p2w monetization in the past and these past experiences never stopped me to play mobile ARPG or DI in this case.

In the context of D:I as my post was in reference to you playing D:I the first time today.

I wote “the game”. It is a singular noun refering to D:I and not any other game.

Please quote the entire sentance and not part of it.

Been playing daily since launch, still have yet to hit a cap or this mythological pay wall that halts player progression I keep hearing about.

Compete is a weird thing here. 60%ish win rate in BGs as a free player. I seem to compete well. However, I know the term is used to mean keep up with the whales.
