For the second Blizzcon running, the much heralded “inside information” attributed to Jason Schreier of the worthless gaming site Kotaku has proven incorrect, with no Diablo 2 Remaster announced.
Perhaps now the community will take this man off his undeserved pedestal, and recognise that he is simply another of the morass of mediocre so-called “gaming journalists” spamming ill-informed clickbait prior to large announcements. His correct calls are educated guesses that any number of forum-goers could have made, and his “inside sources” are nothing more than his own bodily orifices.
Why do you care as to what Jason Schreier has to say?
Wasn’t he the person, who wrote a book, according to which Reaper of Souls saved Diablo? When Diablo has been a dead game since forever, and Reaper of Souls to me (fan of the franchise) seems waay worse than even Vanilla D3.
I wouldn’t necessarily lump him in with the same crowd that writes hit piece articles that tell the world how annoyed they are at having found something in a game to be offended by.
Jason does his best work when he does actual journalism like exposing the BS that occurred with Anthem and Black Ops 4.
As much as I don’t care to see Jason wrong about this, it’s possible that they pulled it last minute. The unspecified number of projects they claimed to be working on, and the fact that they’ve assembled a team of “Classic Game” devs has me holding out hope for an announcement in the near future. Blizzard knows they can make money off this if they do it right…
Trust me, I wish they’d still announce it during Blizzcon, but what time frames could they possible do it in? I’m 99% sure we won’t be seeing it quite yet.
