Playing D2R with a controller, along with D3 with a controller, makes it abundantly clear…it’s time to implement controller support into PC D3. Literally copy+paste the D2R or D3 console implementation, it shouldn’t be very difficult or use resources or anything, it’s already implemented everywhere BUT on PC D3. So…I think it’s finally time. Please consider adding dedicated/official controller support for PC D3. Thanks.
Agreed. I would never use it, but I agree. And console should allow KB+M as well.
I would imagine it is, since the whole game handles quite different on consoles, it’s not just “add controller instead of mouse/kb” that’s been done to make the game work on the consoles.
Afaik console versions have no support at all for mouse/KB, it’s controller or nothing, so it’s fundamentally different.
Now, clearly it could be done, but if it was a 5 min job I’m sure it would have already been done.
Can’t be a simple cut and paste. The skill layout, for example, is very different as are potions and scroll use. Remapping might be possible there, but I bet they simply do not want to spend any resources on such a thing, even if it would be a QoL improvement (and get me to possibly play on PC again.)
We’ve been asking for this all along.
It’s a question of their commitment to accessibility, which clearly is not a factor. There is a surprising number of people I know, including myself, who have to severely limit their playtime on Diablo 2/3 due to tendon strain. Gamepad support mitigates this drastically.
But this isn’t profitable, so the idea has been quashed since the beginning. You will inevitably be referred to buying a console, which personally I don’t intend to do, as there are plenty of alternate PC ARPG titles that do support controllers (it has become standard, leaving Blizzard and D3 in the stoneage).
I can’t tell you how overjoyed I was to see D2R support gamepad, and it does so quite intelligently. This shows that Blizzard has the capacity to implement this, even on a decades old game. But they were able to justify that via the increased sales potential of the remaster. I doubt the bean counters in their back offices would allow it for D3, because the potential for increased sales as a result of that update just aren’t likely to be there. And that’s sad.
Maybe in 20 years we will see a D3 remaster with gamepad support added. Hah!
agreed. controller support for D3 pc would be amazing. it’s definitely one of those games to just sit back and chill, not hunch over a desk for hours. kinda crazy how a remastered version of D2 releases for it but a game that came out in 2012 and has been ported to every console even switch still hasn’t added controller support on the pc version.
I think there is controller support for pc… however quite frankly thats bullpoop! If you want to play with a controller do one and play it on a console if you want to play it on mouse and keyboard also do one and buy a pc. Thank you have a nice day now!
dumb take. some people have a pc but have wrist/hand issues and controllers are easier on their hands. not to mention it should just be a choice regardless and players having that choice to choose m+k or controller on pc in no way negatively effects you.
I guess not. End of day there is controller support. There’s even support for colour blind people. And i guess if u dnt have a condition then get a pc as they are better (thats what i was saying).
It’s not just needing the code to implement controller use, they’d have to bring in the console UI as well. Then they would have to implement a toggle between UI.
So not that simple. Not impossible, but not simple.
Also unlikely to happen, but you never know.
It does. PS4 and Xbox, you can plug mouse and keyboard.
