Comparing D3 legendary gems with D4 paragon boards…
While I do think D4 has too much in common with D3, D4 does have some nice stuff that D3 does not, such as the paragon boards. Heck, even the things where they are somewhat similar, D4 is generally substantially better at.
Maybe you are the reason behind D4 being better than expected? The universe was like “no, we cant let Bravata be right about something for the first time ever!”.
- Stash/Inventory management
- Guild/Social features
- Itemization
- Crafting/Enchanting
- It is better at itemization yes. A lot better. It would be hard not to be. But even without comparing it to D3, where any other itemization kinda wins automatically, the itemization in D4 got some positive elements on its own. Also plenty of issues, but it might be the best itemization in a Diablo game so far.
- Stash is worse than current D3. Maybe not so much worse than original D3.
- Guild/social features are irrelevant honestly. Don’t know which guild features either of the games have.
- Crafting/enchanting. Enchanting is better in D4. Quite well balanced, the increasing price per reroll is one of the best things Blizzard have done in D4. Ensures that it still has value to find new items, vs. rerolling the same item a thousand times.
Crafting, basically non-existent, which I guess makes it better by default. Items should never be crafted, they should come from drops.

D3 has that though, and had it long before D4.
Not really, the cost is completely irrelevant there. You have unlimited gold.
Just standing there, clicking the reroll button 100 times in a row, very much is a thing in D3.
They are not remotely comparable when it comes to affix rerolling.
It is, but it gets progressively more expensive. That was the criteria you listed.

The cost mattering is what made it “quite well balanced”.
D4 is significantly worse at itemization and inventory Management.
The Aspect mechanic is nice but the affixes, balance, progression curve etc. Are all atrocious at the moment.

I uninstalled D4 after 150 hours but have approx 2000 hours on D3. I agree with OP that D4 is not fixable or able to be made fun. It was so bad I won’t wait around for it to get better especially with the devs they got who designed putting rocks on pedestals and as much running around in dungeons as fighting. Very disappointing game that does not deserve the title of Diablo 4. Should rename it to Diablo Console.

I’m pretty sure that D4 is fixable wouldn’t see why it can’t be fixed. It will take some time though (D3 was sh!t until RoS)
The “Diablo Console” remarks are weird though. D3 is the most console friendly diablo in existence and at the same time the best Diablo we have.
D3 was designed on PC first. Diablo 4 was designed on console and ported to PC or to be more correct I guess simultaneously but it’s clear that the console influence hampered the PC version. This resulted in camera zooming issues and low monster density (concern of consoles graphics card not handling it). Poor chat and barely any social features due to console other than an emote wheel which was clearly designed for console users. PC gamers helped support and make Diablo franchise great but then they cash grabbed us with an unfinished console type game. It was a betrayal but I understand they did it for business reasons.

The camera issues and density issues are not related to consoles though, they are a general design mistake.
We console players also want to zoom out further and higher density can be handled on consoles with no issues as well.
It’s a general design flaw that has nothing to do with console limitations here.
The social features certainly are though, there this kind of development certainly made the PC version worse than it had to be

Now 8 months ago i told you how bad D4 was, i being a literal genius and professional gamer obviously should see these faults in games long before layman casuals like you and most others in these forums. i knew D4 was so bad it would die around a month after the Diablo IP draw wore out and people actually saw the game they were “playing”.
BUT the problem left over for all of us now after all of our differences, is that i was right all along, and i took a lot of punishment for standing up for what i believe in, i tried to protect you all, like a mother lion guarding her pups. But now that its clear, now that the facts are wide out in the open, NOT A SINGLE PERSON HAS APPOLOGIZED TO ME. i have never in my life seen a more ungrateful community in my entire life.
