It's not a ddos attack!

It’s a few extra thousand people, with nothing to do on a Tuesday night, because everything is SHUT THE EFF DOWN!!!
Blizzard’s Servers have NEVER worked for maximum traffic. And now, here we are. No WoW. No. D3. No SC Online. No nothing.

They probably don’t want to admit that their servers are dragged because of their ISP’s over in Aneheim or elsewhere, or that they never expected this kind of traffic.

Guess it’s my time to hop back to EVE: Online until this COVID-19 thing is over. At least CCP Games has regular monthly tests of their shards!

Your logic is flawed. If this were the case, EU would be having issues as well

So it’s only the US?

Interesting because I was booted out of the Americas, and when I manually logged back in, it automatically took me to Asia region.

I’ll test that and get back to ya’ll, let’s see how long I can manage to play without DC’s.

Eve: Online… That was a fun game at first, then the game became “work”. I couldn’t justify paying to work, so I quit.

Correct, only NA atm… Blizz has stated they’re being DDoS’d

DDOS could be A) there is an actual Distributed Deinal of Service Attack, or B) There’s a sh*t ton of bored people trying to log in and play.
I’m going with B, because if it were trolls trying to actually DDoS, they would be hitting EU servers as well.
No offense, but noone really cares about the Asian or Pacific servers. :frowning:

Blizz has already stated they’re being DDoS’d

Well, the couple of tracking sites show a lot of attacks going on at the moment, but then there are always some sorts of attacks going on.

Some seem rather large, and a few are landing near California. Hard to say.

But its affecting other things besides Blizzard. I have had trouble with a few websites as well.

And you believe Timmy, the intern trying to phone the guy to tell him what to do, will actually get the servers working again?

What does your response have to do with my comment? All I said, is that they stated that there is a ddos attack happening.

We have seen the lies about DDoS already in gen forum.

Timmy needs our prayers to get him through the night.

He is the only one that can find the Server ON switch!

I’m downloading PoE new league as I write this.

I am tired of Blizzard lies and incompetence.

I think you were attempting to be sarcastic.

Try again friend.

Meh. I tried PoE. It was slow and clunky to use. It’s inventory management system is a bloody mess to work with. It wasn’t horrible, and I completely respect the guys at GGG for what they’ve been able to do with it. They’re excellent developers.

But let’s be honest. Blizzard knows how to make games that are addictively fun to play. The art is fantastic. They playtest the heck out of their games, so even if you’re on a potato laptop, you can find settings that let you have a good experience. The gameplay is smooth. The controls are responsive. The games are easy to learn but have enough complexity at the end to keep players interested. POE’s not quite there yet.

While I despise many of the management decisions coming out of ActiBlizzard lately, their core teams do good work, especially when they’re allowed to finish it (hint, hint, there boys. You make more money if the product ISN’T rushed)

Right now it’s the only ARPG I can play that I enjoy atm other than Diablo II.

That’s the point ^ … I want to play an arpg, and D3 is toast right now.

It seems to be the entire internet for me ,not just blizz,I cant live stream tv or watch utube now. I saw on the news all the internet has 5 times the traffic. And has slowed it down to a crawl.

I’ve had some issues with Disney+ stuttering while my kids are trying to watch a show. Netflix has been taking a bit longer to buffer, along with some other sites are taking longer than normal to load.

I don’t find this entirely surprising, given how many people are trapped at home given the current situation across the world. More internet traffic is most definitely going to cause cyber traffic jams.

Now is a great time to play those games that don’t require internet connections!
