My apologies if this seems like a rant, but I’m becoming increasing frustrated with some of the mechanics of D3, particularly, with drop-rates. For instance, I’ve not seen a RoRG - in any season - since Season 16. Similarly, this season - for my life - I cannot get a Compass Rose. I’ve spent tens-of-thousands of shards, but nothing. I’ve tried reforging rares, but Kanai’s - like Kadalah -keeps churning-out the same crap. I’ve got, at least, 3-6 times most other items/sets.
I get/accept that certain things you just have to work for; but these are basic items, and it’s really messing with game-play progression.
I have found that making a second of the same class can help to spend shards with, you can even save the caches in your stash and open them with the new char.
I had a season three or so ago that I could not get the RoRG, so I tried it and it worked but that could have been just luck after the fact.
Get 3000 death breaths, and 6000 of white blue and yellow mats, then upgrade 120 lvl 70 rings, that should get your compass. Then do a1 bounties over and over for rorg.
Ok, to be fair, I never knew that the RoRG dropped from Bounty 1 Cache. After receiving Kirottu’s advice (and doing a little reading), I ran said bounty on T13, and the cache DROPPED 2! (I couldn’t believe it!)
So, it’s official: I’m an idiot!
I apologize to Diablo 3, and am, now, going to find the highest Bouncy Castle possible, and fling myself from it!
Don’t feel bad there are a lot people that are still learning the game. That have been here for years too. I have 2 accounts been trying to get a Ancient Unhallowed chest pieces all season from Kadala. She doesn’t even give me a reg piece. On one of the accounts.
The drop rate in this game is about 2% on anything you really want or need. That is no matter how you get it. I know how you feel on the compass rose. Last season I was getting travelers left & right that were great. All the compass rose were crap. Plus this season they still are crap.
I have always said that Blizzard has it setup that they know what you want or need. No matter where you are doing it. I was trying to change a stat on something just yesterday. It had just 4 different Stats you could change. I tried over 30 times or more and only got that stat I wanted once.
Not a problem, we have all done stupid things. This season I was pushing to get 100 but after two tries I found that I had the same item in the cube as the one I was using.
And yes pushing 100 is not a big thing for many people but I try to do as much solo stuff as i can, and I’m mostly under geared.
I spent shards on chests to complete my invoker set for the set dungeon mastery and found after some time the set has no chest piece. The only one in the game I believe,
Just as a follow-up, I was able to get the RoRG; and, after that, through shards, and then up-grading rares, I was able to - finally - get an Ancient Compass Rose. After that, I went, somewhat, easily from GR 65 to GR 80. Felt really good, after all that grinding; and, aside from, completing the Set-Dungeon Mastery, I’m pretty much finished this season.
