Is time for T20

It is the right time to raise the difficulty, not only to be able to farm better but also to make public games more enjoyable by bringing together people who have the same level.
With T20 maybe at the height of a GR100 and with that I think it would be enough.

It’s time to stop suggesting dumb ideas.

The number of difficulty levels needs to go down, not up. Currently we have 20 difficulty levels already. That’s more than 10 too many.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against increased challenge. However, this has to be done using common sense. One option we should consider is a complete rescaling of difficulties.

Kirottu, Paragon 1374… okkkkkk
another one?

Really, you’re categorizing me due to my paragon level?

If you’re going insult someone, do it properly. That way I could at least flag the post. But lame categorization due to paragon level… Just lame.

I don’t think we need more torment lvls at all. If they want to make torment lvls harder then they need to go back to having normal - torment 6 and raise the difficulty of T1 - T6. I think having normal plus T1 - T16 is overkill when all they needed to do is buff T1-T6.

just maje it to 8 torments lvl, 8t will match t18

making up to t20 is totally usless. nobosy needs to choose between that many.

im pissed of that we cant get to have a challange in normal rifts, and pls dont start making flames saying that rifts isvonly for keys grift is where you challange yourself blabla

Exactly my point, rescaling. Remove 2/3 of current difficulty levels and rescale the remaining ones. This way we’d get what OP and many others are asking for, more challenge, but in a more sensible way.

In non-season, basically everyone is on T16. Due to power creep even when starting fresh one can easily skip multiple difficulty levels as one gains key items for a build. Just adding more levels to skip is just lazy idea.

I repeat what I said earlier so that people are not mistaken: I’m not against increased challenge.

I see this request a lot in stream and I don’t think people really think it through. If you increase torment levels, yet again, you’re pigeon-holing players into playing meta builds 100% of their time. It was nice to face roll TXIII playing whatever build you wanted to create. TXVI significantly reduced the number of builds you can use to keyfarm. TXX would only further reduce that number. Then you’re literally just playing 1 meta build 24-7. And before you say, “well just farm a lower torment then”… that’s really not a valid argument either, how many players do you know that farm lower torments? Whatever the torment level is, players want to farm the max level.

looks at PTR notes

Hmm I don’t see any set modifiers going from 8000% to 20000% or anything like that anywhere so uhm, think we’re fine? Yah we’re fine.

No. If you raise it to T20, a lot of the speed builds will disappear. The point of T16 is doing fast runs. If you want T20, just do GR100.

It isn’t going to matter if you rescale the difficulties. Why? Because we keep getting more and more continual power creep. Until that stops, the only viable solution for those that want endgame difficulty in a regular rift is going to be a selection menu like GRs have. That way you can pick how hard you want the rift to be. It’s fairly trivial do to since it would just use the same damage/HP increase formula as GRs. Just be aware that GR mobs have half the health of regular rift mobs (this was done ages ago), so you won’t really be able to go up to the same difficulty in a Nephalem Rift as a Greater Rift. Damage might be the same, but HP will not - regular rifts are 2x HP vs GRs.

Also, something to consider is that Blizzard is going to have to cap rewards via a rather steep diminishing returns curve to prevent getting a glut of…well, everything from just a few rifts.

The bottom line here is that you think you want this, but you actually don’t. You’re just going to end up going back to farming whatever’s most efficient, not what’s hardest. The time vs. reward with the curve that will be required to be put in place pretty much assures that.

NO.

It’s better if we just decrease the amount of Torment levels and just rework it to have better rewards and balanced difficulty.
