Is there really no Cow Level?

Is there a cow level?
The bible tells me no, but Internet historians on facebook tell me yes.

So is there a cow level?

There is no cow level and anybody who says they have been there is lying.

They want you to think that there is one so that they can control you.

As Nefertiri says, don’t trust ANYONE that says that it exists. Especially don’t trust them if they give specific instructions (like putting a Bovine Baradiche in the cube) and if they link to a video claiming to show proof of the cow level existing, remember that Deep Fake video technology was created for exactly these kinds of scenarios.

There are two “cow” levels:

  1. There is a specific nephalem rift composed completely of murderous cows. The Rift Guardian is the lord of Bells. It is a rather boring rift, since the maps are all the same long corridors. This is a random rift you can get at any time.
  2. The “Not the Cow Level” is reached by putting a Bovine Bardiche into the cube and clicking Transmute (without adding anything else into the cube). It will open a portal to the map, again composed of murderous cows. It is fun as a diversion, but no real reason to run it. You don’t get anything in terms of rewards that you can’t get in a normal map.

In addition to the manual method of using a Bovine Bardiche in the Cube, Patch 2.6.5 introduced the possibility of goblins leaving behind portals to Not The Cow Level…

Portals left behind by Treasure Goblins may occasionally lead somewhere udderly ridiculous

When this happens, the goblin leaves behind a bright red portal, leading to “Not The Cow Level”

A famous quote

”Leads to a place that does not exist. The Burning Hells are not responsible for events that transpire there. If you claim to have been to this place, you will be called a liar. Void where prohibited.“

Yeah. I thought that was what Nefertiri was referring to above.

I took it as a joke.

❝ I thought I have escaped from the big bad wolf, but I was wrong. . . I entered a strange place with lot of cows … Suddenly a murderer cow appeared and joint the chase. … I was so weak and helpless … Who can save me? ❞ — Memoirs of Little Red Riding Hood

With help of modern technology, we are able to restore the image in high resolution:

There is a cow level, you can open it by transmutting an item called bovine bardiche in the cube. Occasionally some goblins when they die leave a portal to access that level just as they do with the Vault. There isn’t much to talk about this level. It’s just a map full of cows, with semi decent gold drops and loot and lots of pylons but more importantly it’s always guaranteed to spawn 2 experience pools. It’s used basically for very late game once you 've accumulated tones of paragons and these pools help you increase your paragon even faster.

I don’t care. I just hope there is now cow level in D4 in all senses. And no pony levels. And no other stupid levels.

It seems that you do care though. Quite a lot actually. Have a Snickers!

I do, but about diablo games (especially future ones), not about the question of the topic. Snickers taken.

There isn’t even a game called Diablo. Void where prohibited.

Moo, Moo moo moo, ask the Bovine Bardiche. Put into cube press transmute. Red portal opens to Hamburger heaven.

If you’re quick, you might even find Kanai’s Stomping Ground which is a sort of mooopolis.
