some just dont wont any core change (as promissed by bliz btw … time to hear this out), some like the adrenalin of seeing something and trying to get it etc etc
the reason doesn’t rly matter, they announced it like that before putting it on sale, crying over this is therefore stu*** when they are delivering what was said
the ppl having an issuewith this just havn’t checked what they were buying or shouldn’t buy stuff theyknow doesn’t appeal to them
Even David Brevik the original President of Blizzard North and game director for D2/D2:LoD has stated that changing the loot system in D2 is not a fundamental change. Moreover, he has said repeatedly that if he could go back in time he would change the loot system to personal loot. The reason that the original game did not have personal loot was simply the fact that personal loot had not yet been invented.
You can beat the bots. There shouldn’t be an issue with bots in D2R with the new servers.
Also, you cant pick up items with Telekinesis anymore, and haven’t been able to for quite some time… When’s the last time you played? Any char can get into the nitty gritty of the action and pick up loot, and if you want that, than don’t play a bowzon, or any ranged character. It’s the price you pay for safety.
But I also get this. People bond over frustrating and even “bad” things. Say that 4th grade field trip to the zoo had 3 students peed on by a monkey, a heavy downpour that soaked everyone, and the bus broke down on the way home. In HS the same kids all reminisce about it as a bonding thing.
There is also the adrenaline rush of competition that fuels some.
There is no easy answer.
Right now they will release with FFA original style (as far as I know).
However, they ARE open to changes down the road. I am not against optional patches or modules.
They did check - they know what it was. They also know that some of the aspects they did not care for MIGHT be dealt with down the road in some way. HOW that might happen is worth discussion.
Personally, I would never change the core default loot aspect.
I WOULD however consider adding a game option for personal loot you set at game creation. How they handle loot though is going to be interesting. In WoW they handle rarity by not giving you a drop off each boss. Each person rolls against the loot table and depending on how it is set up they might only get gold and mats, not an item that kill. So Blizz has the ability to consider loot drop availability, rarity, and the economy as well.
while, much later on, maybe the conversation could happen, surely not at start if they dont wan’t a revive of warcraft reforge
when tcp/ip change, if we are to give them the benefice of the doubt, concern security reason to rmeove it it can be understood as a change, not rly on this topic
Correct. That is what they said. Changes or additions to options LATER would be considered. I already said a few times I don’t expect them to change loot for Release in Sept.
and yet here were are with a forum/beta dedicated to find out bug/ui improvement and other stuff, certainly no half post whining about this most player not even being on the forum and those actually doing the “beta” being almost hidden behind this mess
there are issue about ui when joining/creating that’s not working properly and other stuff i’m not even sure 'll be seen and adress considering how litle bliz to actualy test their own game nowadays
I am not sure I follow what you are saying though. People have the right to post, even if you don’t like the topic.
Yes, there are many other things that also need to be addressed, and that is what other threads on the Beta forums are for. The CMs can read more than one thread and forum users can participate in more than one too.
A topic on X does not invalidate other topics on Y, and Z. All can be important.
I think private loot is something that should be optional, and you should have a way to see that this option is on before you join a game. That way you don’t accidently join a game that has private loot enabled. Then all the people who want to compete for loot can all be grouped together in one happy family. Definitely don’t make private loot for everyone though as in the core game.
My thought? the fact that you posted about personal loot all weekend, reporting pretty much nothing else, this is concerning and quite frankly makes me doubt your credibility, especially when you say that it mess with build diversity because people get less loot? Doesn’t feel like you played this game like you pretend tbh.
I understand you REALLY REALLY REALLY want personal loot but you’re so obsessed with it that makes me believe you don’t respect the game for what it is and all that mater is you, you and you.
Most people who played D3 have no idea about trading. Trading was huge in D2. One of the biggest pulls in interaction. I would say, EXP group runs, MF grinds, trading, dueling and rushing we’re the biggest pulls. Personal loot would alter the entire item structure of the game and essentially kill trading like D3. One of the most interactive parts of the game. See Unlike D3 there’s no algorithm giving you special items for your specific character. It’s random, and you take your items and trade and market them to your fiends and other players. It’s essential to the game. These modernists want so many quality of life changes the game will play their characters for them.
There won’t be any personal loot for the chronically selfish. This is a strict remaster, you have literally EVERY game to ever be released after D2R for your ploot, wings, pets, mounts Ect, just leave this game alone, stop whining for ploot so you can play D2R for maybe two hours, and then put it down for six weeks, I know what you are thinking, you are thinking that personal loot is your ticket to getting sixteen HR’s every game you enter, well it won’t be, if you are a casual, stay a casual, don’t mess this game up for those of us who actually want to enjoy it for what D2 is and always was - the king of looters.
