When I PL, I do it on T6. Seems there is a way to do that in T16, but seems like an exploit to me, but not sure. Anyone know?
Yes, itâs an exploit since it was never intended. If anyone actually cares about it is another question.
Exploit yes. Does anyone care? NO! I mean the difference between power level to 70 from T6 to T16 is minimum. In the scheme of things level 70 just a start.
Itâs a sort of exploit but its overall benefit is so tiny that fixing it isnât a high priority. One gets from level 1 to level 70 faster, thatâs it.
thanks all, thatâs what I figured. I will stick to T6 PLs.
Odds of dying more often are higher on T16 than T6. I tried it before with my lady and she died something like 8 times from silly quill demon things who hit her off screen. After that, she didnât want to play for almost a month.
Exploit or not, at this stage in D3 plvl should be accessible from T16. Its wasting time gearing +xp items or run through multiple T6 rifts w/o cains follower.
Is dying while powerlevelling still a thing nowadays? You know she doesnât need to follow you, right? Just got to be on the same map. You gotta play hardcore, its kinda requisite there to ânot followâ while PLevelling.
HmmâŚI think Iâm being dense here - please pardon my question.
My understanding is there are 2 types of power-leveling;
1 - Help power level a new character to 70, and that can only be done at a T6 maximum
2 - Help power level (paragon) beyond level 70, and that is most efficient at T16
You can power level someone in T16 - they can follow you, or they can just be in the same map as you . I donât think itâs an exploit. Itâs been there since day 1 (well, more torments were added later) but the mechanic I think was there since the beginning. Same for power levelling a character to level 70.
Hope I didnât miss the question - just wanted to clarify where the question was coming from.
And this is where the exploit comes in, you can level someone 1-70 at T16 by taking certain steps.
She has to follow when playing couch co-opâŚ
So, your entire post is irrelevant. Not your fault, given lack of information, but otherwise hardcore is not fun. At all.
Couch co-op is a console-only thing. As weâre in General Discussion rather then Console Discussion, the advice given was not only entirely correct for the PC version of the game, itâs also entirely relevant to how power-levelling works on PC.
AhhâŚI am wiser now. Thanks.
Just to throw in my two cents.
I have 2 D3 accounts, though I barely play the second much lately.
Back when I did run the two of them together each season, I would use one to power level the other at whatever Torment that first character could handle, and yes T16 was one of them.
But there are a few caveats:
-
You only get extreme leveling for the first minute or two on the map, despite proximity. (I was never sure of the exact time) I can literally park the character being leveled at the entrance and zoom kill the map, once the leveling slows down, I head for the exit, start the next map once the other player joins. Leveling then goes faster again for a bit. Even when keeping the characters close together this would happen, and I think it had a lot to do with the disparaging difference in levels.
-
If you are using that method, open the map and leave it open and watch for drops. You can then teleport to the leveler (once they cleared the area) and get legendaries, etc. Otherwise, donât try to follow or you will die often.
-
As a leveler, be sure to be mindful of stragglers. If you are power leveling others, donât just run willy-nilly in any direction. I actually stick to a map edge and follow it. Right or left, whatever it may lead. I donât bother with traversing entire maps. That said, you need to communicate this to the player(s) you are leveling. Or they will try to run all over and run into things you didnât kill yet. lol
-
As a player being leveled, use your head. You are better off staying back or staying put. Keep your map up to check for leg drops, drop your banner if you get into trouble. Run toward the person doing the leveling if you have to. They can then kill something chasing you.
As for it being an exploit? Not really. Its something that can be done. However, I feel that if you are helping someone out, sometimes its not the best option to flash them to 70. You would be better served helping them in other ways, but it depends on the situation and the player. Some just need to get to 70 because of time savings, and some people want help finding gear, but not necessarily wanting to feel useless or dead a lot because they are following someone at a ridiculously higher level then themselves.
Seriously you are carrying on over 2 minutes, why go to T16 PL when you should be asking to start at 70 at startup then no need for PL at all
Will still have the problem of not being able to survive because you are still naked and still get owned until you get the required equipment for your build, Oh wait you could just put your order in when you roll up your character and get handed everything already on your character
Kids these days expecting everything handed to them on a silver platter and expecting everything done for them
Work? Whatâs that?
Not sure anyone cares or should care about this.
Just open up t16 for powerleveling 1-70.
Almost no one cares about the leveling part. Or even getting the items for your build part.
Game starts at lvl70 and having the basic (not necessarily good or ancient) items for your build.
(By then primals are unlocked too).
Would be good to implement fast low level gem leveling as well.
Efficiency, 2 mins is a very slow 12x gr run time. Let alone no xp plvl and costing gr keys from no cains drop.
At this stage even a full lvl 70 toon after the first character in seasons is fully legit. 1-70 is wasting time. If you have an issue with efficiency, blame game design philosophy.
Update yourself to 21st century gaming mindset or go back to 20th century mechanics games. Has nothing to do with age, you stay browsing book maps when everybody including your grandma uses GPS? Similar concept.
why has no-one mentioned using Cow levels to Plvl? you can clear the entire thing & start of one t6 map to get someone to 70 really fast. after that (assuming itâs not a first character) have them just sit at the start of grâs and TP to you for urshi+loot. in anything 90+ that you can do in 2mins .
and as far as a power level on t16, as pointed out above itâs an exploit to sneak someone at level one into a game that is above t6 until they are level 70. because blizzard has taken steps to force players under level 70 from not being able to select a difficulty higher then t6.
Well, if âcan be doneâ makes something not an exploit, that means exploits donât exist.
The general rule of exploits is it is one if whatever it entails was not intended to be there. Seeing as you need to do a song and dance routine to make a t16 game happen at level 1, it wasnât intended.
Thatâs not how something is disqualified as being an exploit.
Being able to do something unintended and benefiting from it is the very definition of an exploit. Characters below level 70 should not be able to join T7-T16 games by any means. However it is possible and they benefit from it by a small amount of time saved. It is an exploit.
Itâs a miniscule benefit but still enough to make it an exploit.
