Is it possible to buy then download Diablo 2? Or diablo 1?

Subject line says it all. Looking to purchase from Blizzard a downloadable copy of Diablo 2 or even Diablo 1. Thank you for any info!

Diablo 1:

Diablo 2:

Note: The Lord of Destruction expansion requires Diablo 2 to be installed.
Also if you plan on playing on Battle.net, do not try playing on a business-class connection and if you have a VPN, turn it off.

Blizzard Shop has Diablo 2 and LOD

Blizzard officially partnered with GoG last year to release D1 that is compatible with modern systems so that link is valid as well.

News from Blizz on that.

Edit - this is VERY important. Blizzard will auto suspend you for 2 weeks down to the second for using a VPN or business ISP in D2. Even testing to see if it works yet from one of those connections resets the suspension.

Thank you for the info. I don’t know how I missed the d2 icon - I saw the D for d3 but thought it was for all diablo titles lol. Thank you for the feedback as well.

ARGGGGG!!! Diablo1. The madness! Navigating bad graphics and getting lost in caves because you can’t find the exit. I’m getting vertigo just thinking about it. My suggestion, start at D2, skip D1.

Don’t forget to mention that the battlenet is different in some ways with the GOG depending on what version you run with.

I did the offline installer when I bought mine on GoG, so that I didn’t have to run the galaxy app. Sadly I had to install that when I bought Cyberpunk 2077, but now it looks like I have to refund that, since it won’t play at all on my systems, despite graphic card updates and a game patch. No sense in plunking down $60 bucks on something you can’t play. lol

What is a business ISP?

I just played with the map over the screen almost permanently. Really helped that you could do it in that game.

Also, heresy. Diablo 1 was perfect and any criticism is to be punished.

$50+/mo more then home ISP.
Static IP address.
Higher QoS.
Human that answers phone for support problems.

Some company’s networks can span multiple countries. You can then use work’s network as a VPN tunnel.

Don’t know if they consider “free wifi” as “business IP” or not. (Eg Starbuck’s)

My Apologies. I don’t know what I was thinking by berating such a classic game as Diablo 1. For my penance I will once AGAIN, enter The Darkening of Tristram. But only for a few seconds. Any more than that and I will violently hurl.

I use two VPN’s–ZeroTierOne for Tchernobog’s Diablo 1 HD mod and Radmin for “The Hell 2”. I’m connected to those specifically for those mods’ networks, so would they cause problems if I tried to play D 2? I’m not trying to play D 2 from a VPN network, but from my own wireless network.

A few seconds aren’t enough. You have to make it to at least level 5 and spend a few minutes there to surround yourself with the tortured murmurs of the catacombs music, which is the noise you should make as well.

O.K I di it! But I wasn’t happy about it!

Good. Your sentence is now served and you are forgiven.

how can i check to see if i already have it?

Go to your Account Management here on the website. Up at the top right is a down arrow by your battletag name. Go to Account Settings. From there go to Games and Subscriptions then scroll down to the bottom. Classic games are listed there if you have a key on the account.

The other place to check is your Transaction History. Also found in Account Settings. It should show all your Blizzard Purchases. There is also a tab for Gifts if someone gifted things to you that you can check.

I just fire up D2: LoD myself. I am playing a Werebear Druid. Just started Ac 2. Too bad D3 will never see the Druid. That would have been real fun. I am playing off line with no mods or editors and it’s a nice change of pace. I know I will get wrecked by Duriel.
