Title says it all. I’ve lost track of the number of machines of regret I’ve found trying to find this guy, so I’m just trying to turn the odds in my favor. Doesn’t help that this is the only guy I still need for the “Unique Collection” achievement.
Back in the early days of the game only a selected few of us had completed this achievement since there were a lot more mobs like this one than now. I remember paying 1m gold for the little dude. Fun times.
According to https://www.ign.com/wikis/diablo-3/Act_I_Bounties
, killing Dreadclaw the Leaper is an Act I bounty in the Fields of Misery.
In that case, keep cycling Bounties until it spawns. It is very likely rare similar to getting Cursed Peat.
I’m skeptical. I’ve been looking for this guy for days now. Have you seen it?
I have done the “complete all bounties” challenge but not the “kill these unique enemies” as I am missing Ebenezer Samuel whom I know is not a Bounty.
I can’t recall if I got the rat as one or not given how many Bounties have been done over time. But, the thing does exist. Even if not a Bounty.
Heck, at this point I’d pay a billion gold to get this over with.
I payed for Ebenezer too, and like 5-6 others that were the super rare. Back then there were no bounties and 1m gold costed some cents on the RMAH. We also had a dedicated forum thread so that if some of us found a rare one we shared in the thread and waited some minutes for people to join if they see it.
And as of three hours ago, found him, killed him, got the achievement. A weight has been lifted.
Haha, congrats! It was the hardest achievement in the past. Right now maybe is bounties one?
I think what makes him so difficult is 1) There are no dedicated bounties for him (I think the info DeadlyMouse posted is out of date) so you don’t know he’s on the map or not and 2) It’s purely luck-based. Unlike something like “Kill 100,000 demons”, I know I’m making some degree of progress. With this, I’m slamming my head into the wall until the game decides to hand him over.
That being said, if I had to guess, the hardest achievement is likely going to be “Savior”, just because of how narrow the requirements are.
Might be if you don’t “cheat/pursue” the achievements, but just play the game.
I guess from my perspective, even if I am hunting it, it’s based on the other guy’s present HP, so from where I stand it feels like trying to hit a bullseye blindfolded.
There was some easy way to cheat that achievement in a group.
When you say cheat, do you mean cheat or exploit? Because I can see the second depending on how they programmed it. If three people were to take off all their armor at once while the fourth guy does the killing, he might be able to get three for the price of one.
I mean do it fast without an exploit, just abusing the regular game mechanics with 3 players taking damage and the 4th healing them.
