I agree it’s revolutionary but it’s a step in the right direction IMO
Think of it this way:
D2
- FHR
- FCR
D3
- Str = Armor
- Int = Resistances
- Dex = Dodge %
BOTH games ended up in a fairly bad system for survival (IMO) in D2 you stacked those 2 stats as most-important things no matter what, and in D3 all you did is stack Armor for % reduced damage taken (instead of ACTUALLY taking reduced damage per hit taken) as well as stack-up Int instead of ACTUALLY spec up into resistances
The “Dodge %” is… I don’t even wanna tbh… Just a whole slew of problems creation kind of thing… I’d personally not mind if they made D4 feel a bit more like DS… I mean = EARLY LEVELS in D2 also felt like DS, didn’t they ?, until you get into act 3 ending or act 5 where places were SUPER OVERCROWDED, act 1 felt a bit like DS on Nightmare (and Hell) when you first start playing, you kinda pull those elites with “super nasty” hits 1 by 1 kind of
So don’t see a problem where the game would step into that direction a bit, in fact that’s I think what people felt MOSTLY MISSED in D3 compared to D2, there weren’t mobs where you’d struggle killing 1v1 behind a door or corner, compared to D2 where you’d 1v1 a dude and drink a whole arsenal of potions and hope that dude would drop the same amount of potions when you kill it tbh
ALSO the champion/ghostly packs kinda did the same, you fight regular mobs and all out of a sudden non-elite hits like a truck and you have to “lure and dodge” 1 by 1 or running in “circles” while being hit by only 1 or 2
So yes, don’t see why not include that feeling/theme back in D4 IMO
