Hey BlackCorona,
Yes, I am playing Diablo 3 (currently with only 1 minor issue) on an iMac M1 running macOS Sequoia 15.3.2 (24D81).
I know there’s been an issue for some Mac users with Diablo 3’s “Info.plist” file not containing proper dictionary keys (there is an entire thread on it). There can also be issues with Diablo 3’s permissions not being set correctly, which can cause crashing/lagging/slowdowns. I’ve posted extensively on how to fix the permissions issues in other threads.
I also know that the “Battle.net” app sometimes doesn’t update correctly or at all, even if it allows you to enter and play Diablo 3. It may not matter (hey, it’s worth a shot right :)) but, you may want to check the version of your “Battle.net” app and apply any updates that it may have missed.
As of March 28, 2025, mine currently shows:
Battle.net Version 2.41.0.15299
Battle.net Update Agent Version 2.37.4.9054
You can find this info by logging into the “Battle.net” app and clicking on the top left drop down “Battle.net Menu”. Click on “Settings” then click on “About”. At the very top it will show the versions for the “Battle.net Applications”.
Try leaving “Battle.net” open for a few minutes—like 5 - 10 minutes—and see if you get notified of an update for “Battle.net”. If you get an update notification, then go ahead and apply it.
Also, ever since the update before Season 34 started, I’ve been experiencing strange behavior with Diablo 3:
1.) Not able to copy or paste anything in any chat while in game (Not Resolved).
2.) Weird issue with permissions, which required me to ‘force’ macOS to ‘sense’ that the permissions on the “Diablo III” and the “Battle.net” folders had changed (I tried my original method of fixing permissions and it didn’t work the first time, after ‘forcing’ macOS to ‘sense’ a change of permissions, it worked) (Resolved)
3.) Wasn’t able to switch around skills on the action bar. Usually, one can open the skill menu and left-click and hold on a skill on the action bar and drag and drop on another skill to exchange its keybinding with that other skill. For some reason, I wasn’t able to do this. However, I exited Diablo 3, quit all applications that were open, and restarted the computer (I DO NOT have “Reopen windows when logging back in” checked as I believe it may cause issues with caches for applications, including the Finder). This issue was fixed after I restarted the computer. (Resolved)
So, yeah, there’s been tons of bugs over the years with Diablo 3. Lots of them have been squashed and some still exist.
Hopefully your issues (and those of many others) get fixed soon to get you back into game!
Regards,
Cyclo
