Truthfully, I’m neither hyped nor disappointed regarding Diablo 4. I am however looking forward to the next few years to see if blizzard indeed stays true to their word of releasing quarterly updates, and to see just how much of the community’s feedback they take in. If they do take in our feedback while modestly keeping us in the loop regarding development, then I believe Diablo 4 will end up being a great game; however only time will tell.
I don’t want to jinx things, but I remember that initial D3 trailer (? the one with the barb in some kind of dungeon) and the end result turned out to be rather different. So my initial impressions are rather favorable, but it’s really early days and time will tell.
Happy that they actually listened to the feedback that people have given about the tone and visuals for the game. Happy that they finally revealed where they are at, and continue to ask for feedback from us to possibly bring it closer to the best game it could be. Cautiously optimistic that it will turn out great and that they will actually listen to the feedback we give moving forward.
The little i know about d3 atm i like it. But considering that the thing we saw is not even an alpha state of the game, a lot of things will change.
At least the concept of being more tied to d2 than to d3 is a good start.
Right now all that has been made is the dough (the engine, the world and so on) People like different toppings that is what gives it the good taste (systems, itemization, difficulties and all that stuff).
People want to add the toppings they like on a pizza.
Just about every respected streamer who played the demo at blizzcon is happy with important early development milestones of Diablo IV: the engine and the development philosophy. Now they’re cultivating constructive criticism in order to shepherd D4 to its brightest possible future.
Diablo IV is in an amazing place atm:
The press knows it
The streamers know it.
The general public doesn’t know anything yet
The Diablo community knows that the rend barb was nerfed, they lost 7 grift levels, and heads must roll
It’s a matter of deciding which perspectives matter to you.
first i get very happy with the news and the graphic style , but after breakdown the gameplay and listening d4 dev team and David Kim , i lost all excitation and realize is a smoke show and the next d3 reskin is coming
for console and realize blizzard apologize are all fake prove you dont ear of the diablo community manager is always the same nothing change
I honestly was. Then i watched the rhyker sit down gameplay with a dev.
And the dev started talking about how trading will be. Then i noticed health potions have cooldowns.
He then said area’s will level with you but still be hard. I’m not sold on this model as in d3 it just didn’t work for me.
There is some negativity, sure. People remember the atmosphere leading up to the D3 launch, and how many things that were promised either ended up looking very different, or didn’t ever eventuate. They’re wary of getting their hopes up only to be disappointed again. Understandably so.
There are also people who already see the warning signs that D4 that it will be a very similar game to D3, and for those who didn’t like D3, they’re feeling let down - again, it’s understandable where they’re coming from (even if your feelings on D3 don’t necessarily align with theirs).
You remember the outrage over last year’s Blizzcon because D IV wasn’t announced?
If you saw the transmission from the opening ceremony you’ll know that this is what people and players have been waiting for. This forum is just full of the usual haters.
