It is for multiplayer. This season at least. Looking at the Americas LB, everyone on the four player has cleared 150, for the three player over 2/3 have and the two player, around 1/3 have cleared 150. For single player, only a DH has cleared 150. (Nice going! An amazing accomplishment - I just cleared 125 with my DH and it was hard - and fun! but I’m a casual payer.)
I find it hard to believe the Devs had this in mind when they implemented the current seasonal buff. Now what happens? Will they repeat this next season? Is 150 multiplayer a new normal? Almost certainly not.
Also, since 150 is the max level, how high could a four player team go this season if the cap were raised? The best current time is 4:21. That’s insanely fast. I don’t think I could do 100 solo that fast (well, maybe if RNG was good to me). 180? That would be truly awesome. I guess we’ll never know.
150 has been easy for a while. You just needed a good group. This season’s theme just made it accessible to everyone. Especially with youtube teaching people how.
According to blizzard, there’s no intention to raise the greater rift cap.
The Greater Rift 150 Cap
An important note, especially for those of you who have been looking for this answer: we have no plans to increase the Greater Rift level cap beyond 150. As to why, the short answer is because it causes more problems than it solves.
He said that regarding how high a 4p group could go this season if it weren’t for the cap. Not about removing the cap. We will indeed never know how high a push group could go, although I don’t think 200 is outside reach tbh, you only really need to kill 50-60 mobs in the first 5mins to clear.
I’m a casual player too and have played most every season. The best GR I’ve ever done was a 109 solo (WD paragon 1160, time played 175 hours) and the best my clan members and I have done is 112 (3 player). I don’t venture out into the wild (public games) very much so there is that. So it’s easy for me to say 150 is pretty much out of my reach. RNG be damned. lol
Yeah GR150 clears are definetly way easier due to the “stack swapping” with the seasonal theme.
Same I dont think the seasonal theme is actually working as intended. I think the way it is working right now is a bug and they were too lazy to put even more time and money into fixing it.
I guess its kind of weird/wrong that players could reach/clear max difficulty within a few days… Would be interesting if every season buff was this huge handicap so that players could clear max difficulty faster and easier, but that’s like killing the difficulty for those that enjoys the challenge. Really curious what the next seasonal theme buff is.
This is a little strange, I wonder what the difference is between 140s and 150s.
In fact, I think that facilitating the maximum level of the game has caused the majority to lose interest in this game. In season, this causes people to abandon it in just a few days.
As a casual player who only plays 2 to 3 hours at day I have already maxed out all of my main gems. Most of my previous seasons I barely reach Paragon 800. This season alone I have surpassed my combined non season Paragons!
I preferred it when we were still pushing 110. It was very difficult, zmonk could not go wrong or everyone died, zBarb needed to be a God. And after achieving this difficult achievement, we could still up our gems a little more.
Today … we make the maximum limit of this game in just a few days, we no longer have the option to up our gems … it became something very casual and … boring. This game became very easy, it became boring.
150 is still not the norm nor is it that easy to obtain like some claim. If this were the case, the top 1000 would show nothing but 130-150 for every class. Those who are saying 150 is the norm and it’s all easy now, are speaking for themselves, not the mass who cannot. Group clears are different than solo clears as well.
Furthermore, even though few players have managed to reach a 150 solo, it is still a problem. They have already done so with less than 3k paragon in Season. In NS we have many clears in 150.
If you haven’t done a 150 yet, it’s just because you don’t want to, all 1000 in 4p have done it, probably many times, so yes it’s extremely easy, it’s just pathetic
It says “is it the normal” and mentions multiple ways, not just 4p. Either way, it isn’t normal and not everyone CAN with their given time/play style. Takes time to learn meta specially in pubs where you get ousted if not up to par. If your a solo only, obviously it’s not the norm. If your a “play with buddies only” and casual, it is not. So for the majority of players who are not on the forum and just play the game…it is not the norm.
You replied to ME, not to him. And I speak clearly about zMonk, zBarb, where do you think they are used?
Nowadays EVERYONE can YES, if there is a minimum of interest. You don’t have to have a big paragon, you don’t have to be experienced, you don’t have to be a god …
If you are solo, why do you care if multi players outdo you? Will it change the fact that you are inexperienced and weaker?
I wonder where you got this “metric” where it shows that solo players are the “majority” …
It is funny that whenever someone talks about how easy the maximum level of this game is, there is some low paragon crying because “he can’t even get close to it”, as if it were the fault of others and not his total incompetence and unwillingness to play with other players.
YES you do have to be experienced and YES majority of the time paragon and experience plays a roll in where you get to stay in a pub group or not. IF you have friends that will teach or carry you then it doesn’t matter.
I don’t get were people like you think the majority of players do meta groups So I guess we can agree to disagree . My low paragons still net me in the top 20 on the LB solo so I guess as stated, people with low paragon can still know how to play and how it works.
PS. I didn’t reply to you, I replied to the thread.
Funny, I have a new friend who was able to make 150 in 4B of zBarb and he is only 2 months old in D3 … Do you call that experienced?
If you can’t do 150, you’re no better than my grandmother.
We don’t even need a META for 150. We just need a Trashkiller and the season bonus does the rest.
We have 3 types of players.
-META
-Speeds
-Solo
Why the hell do you think there are more players on Solo than on META and speeds in a game with a focus on multiplayer? To say that solo players are the “majority” has been the same painful fallacy for some time. This is extremely unpleasant to hear because it just doesn’t make any sense.
It is only the cry of children when they see adults with something new that they do not have access to, but when they do, they soon lose interest and abandon it.
So you quoted the wrong comment, because the notification that you quoted my answer appeared to me.
As far as the quoting you, I never did quote you…and for replying, if I did then sorry but I don’t have the icon on the corner of my post saying I replied to “you”.
Other than that you do you, like I said we will agree to disagree and that’s fine. It’s a healthy part of life.
