Hello, I just died in hardcore grift level 90 on my barbarian. Perendius did his big hammer swing attack and i figured “screw it I’ll just get hit and proc since he was almost dead”. Upon the attack, my mercenary and I both got 1 shot. The mercenary WAS wearing “Cannot be Killed” and my only cheat death passive so I died as well. It seemed to kill my mercenary a split second before me which is why I didn’t proc. PLEASE FIX THIS - just wasted my best gems and speed farmer because the games bugged STILL.

Which follower were you using?
I think the follower cheat death only restores 100% health once over so many seconds…
If you take 201% health point damage in one swing, both you and the follower is instant killed. The “can not die” doesn’t prevent the follower’s death if you die in hard core.
That would be funny if you die and the follow was just standing there looking at your corpse…
Anyone know if my assumption is correct?

Why would that be funny about the merc living while you die? You are right, the prevent death has a timer on it of at least 60 seconds. However, over kill doesn’t make a difference (except in D&D where it makes the differnce between coma a dead dead). In the case of the Linden - you are shielded from fatal damage so you never really take it. I suspect that the cheat deat had proc’d and was on cooldown when he died. The merc didn’t die but just left - no more paydays LOL
