Season 18 just started last Friday at 5pm PDT and I am noticing players who already have 800 Paragon are playing GR75-80, already have leg gems at level 50 and already have a full ancient set. Is that a good indication of a botter? Or is that level of char, less than 48 hours after season started, possible without botting? Maybe season 18 is just too easy. Looks like some players are going to finish the season in less than a week. Just to be clear: I personally don’t care about botting, since I just play with myself for fun and don’t care about leaderboards. Botters are actually cool, if you befriend one, because they can be used to level you up if you want.
Hi, I have over 800 paragon, and have been running higher than that. I just checked I have 27 hours played in the first 48 hours. Welcome to those who play more than you.
Feel free to check my profile, or my Youtube.
Obviously this doesn’t negate the botting issue, but your metrics are way out.
Not at all.
Easily. Make some snacks and coffee, grab 3 friends, and have a marathon gaming weekend. Get up to stretch and nap a bit. VERY reasonable to do. Many are higher.
It has always been like this. The very dedicated folks who treat season start like a competitive race always achieve this stuff.
Exactly!
Nah,thats more than doable even as a solo player with certain classes/builds.
I’m ~P750 with a UE DH and speed farming GR 85,started the season a few hours late even.
Granted I did play more than I normally do but it was really fast with the powercreep we have.
Dude first 48 hours don’t count as proof. Streamers has done 48h stream at season start before. And other can do that too. And 800 paragon is nothing 48 hours in. You would be ALOT higher than that if you are effecient.
Ok, guys. Don’t get huffy. Just wondering. Trep, you say, “Welcome to those who play more than you”. Or bot more than me. So you all COULD be botters, but then again you can achieve these stats without botting. Cool. I agree, season is WAAAY too easy if in less than 2 days you can achieve these stats without botting.
Thanks
Get to week 2 thats when you will notice the bots. Also there are alot of people whos whole life is legit this game its quite sad. Blizz will never remove the botters or the third party program users . Game is 7 years old you just have to accept the state of play and move on
Keyblade, I hope its only 300 lb latchkey kids with helicopter parents whose whole life is this game and not adults who would rather play this game than work. I am OK with botters because the only reason for botting is the leaderboard and I don’t care about the leaderboard. I just play solo; however, I did try team play once but didn’t inhale so I understand how team play can get you YUGE paragon.
I have a job that where I work on weekends. I played 7 hours on Friday, 5 hours Saturday night, and zero so far on Sunday. I am sitting around 500 paragon and have a couple of ancient pieces, and I do not play highly efficient. I am at this point with 12/48 potential hours played. As others have stated, there are a lot of people who marathon the season start the first weekend and may put 30-48 hours in and play highly efficient.
For someone to be P800 and have 13 ancient pieces 48 hours in isn’t indicative of cheating, it is indicative of how ridiculously easy this game is.
By the way, Trep, I guarantee you I have played more than your 27 hours over the last month or so that I have been playing and I only have ~500 paragon. So it isn’t just playing more that gets you up to 800. You and others are doing something else in addition to playing more than 1/2 your life. You need to write a blog or something giving exact step by step how you got to 800 paragon in 27 hours. Then I will try it and see what I can do.
I was trying to give you an example, using myself, but there’s plenty of players like me. But ok, so you don’t think 27 hours in 2 days is normal. That’s okay, but keep in mind it is season starting weekend (so many play more than normal).
Hence why I included (using me as an example) the check my profile, or my YouTube comments (if you want to see what this looks like for yourself).
Here’s how you can access my profile in game:
Head to the NA leaderboards for Season 12, solo Demon Hunter, rank 12 - TrepChains.
Right click me (TrepChains), and select “View Profile”.
To see Seasonal hours, ensure you select the Season from the menu on the left. Then hover over each class to see the hours on that class for that season.
You can then add them all up, and consider dividing by the number of days in the Season to get an overall average.
Here’s some I prepared earlier:
Season 17: 2.7 hours/day
(Season 15 and 16, sorry not at home can’t look up right now, feel free to look up via my profile above and let me know.)
Season 14: 4.4 hours/day
Season 13: 5.9 hours/day
Season 12: 5.9 hours/day
Season 11: 4.3 hours/day
Season 10: 5.1 hours/day

Thanks Alexis. You must be playing more efficient than me. I have played maybe 50 hours over the last month of so and I have just hit 500 paragon. I don’t know what you mean by “playing efficient”. There are only certain things that gets you paragon: bounties, challenges, NR, GR. I do all that. Maybe you mean I spend 10-15 minutes in town between bounties and rifts, where these high rollers, speed farm, dump in town for 2 minutes, then speed farm again. Sounds boringly repetitive.
I’ll try to detail what I did so far in this Season.
Started almost 2 hours late cause I took a nap before the Season start ‘I take a nap almost daily, anyway’.
Did the Challenge Rift first cause the reward cache is a nice starter boost in Seasons.
Leveled up till 50 or so then a friend talked to me on Discord and I spent like 1 hour alt-tabbed out.
Finished leveling after but it took way longer than normally, also had no luck with the leveling blood shard gamble.
Got lucky with my first lvl 70 upgraded rare bow,it was a Yang’s Recurve.
That made things so much easier/faster.
Before I went to sleep ~2 at night I already had the whole Seasonal Marauder set.
Which enabled me to use a Marauder Multishot build, and with that I farmed out the full UE set easily.
After that it took no time to get to this point where I’m at cause of how strong that build is at early levels/season and even later when you get better gear for it.
That was 100% solo with ~21 hours played but idk how much of that was spent afk or tabbed out so even less actually.
That being said I belive that I know what I’m doing by now, after playing in every single season and doing this on my own.
Its really is how you play and how efficiently +RNG ofc.
And yea thats speed farming, once you can blast trough T16 Rifts and GR 80+ in a few mins you can gain the first 500-800 P levels rather fast.
Thanks, MrGatto, for the info. It doesn’t take me too long either to get lvl 70, maybe a day or 2 of playing (6-8 hours). The key is getting the 800 paragon. LIke I said, I have played maybe 50 hours over a month or so and have just hit 500 paragon. Also, lvl 70 doesn’t get you to GR80, you need massive paragon and ancient sets to get that high. I am at paragon 500 with a full set (though not ancient) with other misc ancient items, like my weapon and about +800 in intelligence gems slotted (intell is strength for wizards) and I can baaarely get past a GR53. My damage stat is over 1million and my vitality is about 1million and it is not enough to get any higher than GR53. So there is something else you are doing to get paragon 800+ in just 20 hours of play. If you are playing with someone that can level you up, OK, that’s fine. But I don’t see paragon 800 playing solo for just ~20 of so hours. Maybe season 18 is easier than 17, so maybe I should just try and see if I can get paragon 800 after 20 hours of play.
That is actually a lot of time, proper groups do it in 2.
You do not need massive paragon or ancients to reach GR 80 with the current power creep, my current monk is already doing T14 that is GR60+ that is while still missing the weapon that buffs WoL, not having rings that boost my damage and I just found the neackle that boost damage by 100% so I likely be pushing to T15/16 depending on how hard it is to stay alive so I’m closing at GR80 before paragon 500 1 of my gems is not even lvl25, I do not have a single ancient item.
Your damage stat is irrelevant for the most part since you want damage multipliers, my monk is hardly breaking the 1M DPS and as I said is closing on GR80 fast and here is the thing, there is a huge difference between speed farming GR50 vs GR80 and I’m slow taking time loggin off to see a movie, dinner with my wife, do home chores and play when I have the chance.
If your struggling OP. Ive decided to play wixard the season . Im only a measly 600ish paragon but more then happy to play together and help each other gear etc. I play in an AU timezone
thank you Keyblade. I will keep that in mind. I tend to not play that much during the week and when I do I play at random hours. Is AU timezone Australia? Would that be about 12 hours ahead. So If I play at 7pm, it would be like 7am there?
I dont know what timezone your in but feel free to add me anyway. I do mostly solo play and im hoping to break 2k paragon in a season. Its unlikely but hey ill see how i go
Do an internet search, there are lots of guides to level to 70 a lot faster. Pro’s get there in less than 2 hours. I was experimenting as I leveled with some techniques (so I obviously did them wrong) and got to 70 in under 5 hours, and this was with carrying a friend that was 10 levels lower than me.
Not quite massive, you just need the right build. I usually get to gr70-75 by paragon 400-500.
I am not an expert on Wiz, but it looks like you have the wrong weapon for Tal Rasha, and all your cube items are the wrong ones. Check on some sites like IcyVeins for some Tal Rasha builds. At low levels, just having the right piece of gear can bump you 10 GR levels. Getting the affixes on the gear can bump you several more.
2 hours solo, you can be level 70. 1 more hour, you can have your Haedrig’s set and you can speed run T8-T10. Another 2-6 hours(rng dependant), you can have your missing build pieces and be running T10-T13. At this point, you should be around p500 solo at about 5-9 hours. If you had been running rifts for those 2-6 hours, you should have a ton of GR keys and can run GR80 pretty fast(2-5min runs). Around P500 and GR80, you are going to get around 10 paragon levels a run, so it goes fast. All of this goes even faster when you are in a group.
P800 is not a huge milestone for an experienced player 2 days into a season. Keep working on your game and you will get there, and don’t be too proud to use guides.
It’s pretty easy for the jobless to find time to waste. If only they had this much ambition about becoming a productive member of society.
