Inarius may be The Creator but NOT our friend, that sociopath would enslave us all again if he could, but we will need him if we want to find and defeat Lilith.
And now that I think about it, he will never let us kill her, that would be quite faithful to the character.
He is no longer tied to the power of the world stone. He cannot do much of anything.
He always said a punishment without death, I donāt think that has changed despite 3000 years of torture,
He may not have the power he used to, but there is a way to become enormously powerful, Lilith knows that too and I think they will both try.
I donāt have a doubt that he wonāt return in some way or another. A narrative about Lilith canāt be completed without Inarius. I could see him being saved for an expansion though.
As we have seen with Tyrael, an angel who loses their wings-like Inarius has-becomes a mortal. I donāt believe Inarius is an angel any longer, and Iām sure he is twisted beyond recognition by now.
I think Lilithās motivations is to destroy both Heaven and Hell once and for all, using the Nephilim to do it. This may also mean that if they are both are destroyed, Sanctuary may go with it, and that may be the reason we would be working against her. Or, she may just want to destroy Sanctuary after the work is done and remake it, in which it is now impossible for Heaven and Hell to interfere anymore. Itās also possible that Lilithās manipulations helped Diablo get into Heaven and shatter the Crystal Arch. Hell would be next, more than likely having an equivalent of the Crystal Arch. Now, angels and demons canāt be reborn, allowing for them to be wiped out once and for all.
Inarius, now being mortal and bound to Sanctuary, may end up working against her once he escapes his prison. He could also now be a twisted monster. He may end up working to take down Heaven or Hell, and Lilith would focus on the other. I doubt their reunion will be a good one though.
