Uhm no. They can balance it. They choose not to. It’s your opinion whether it can be balanced or not. And when the game first came out GGG planned to put in resources in making PvP good, but no one was interested. They were going to even have hosted PvP events.

You’re the one with the opinion. You are literally saying ‘it’s impossible’ to balance which is an opinion. As for PvP being crap, I couldn’t care less. I don’t play PvP in arpgs as it’s boring. D2 had garbage PvP as well. It’s just a bunch of people utilizing bugs and glitches.
Poe battle Royale had better PvP than what D2 had to offer.

A little history on fact and opinion. “PoE pvp is garbage” is an opinion. One I do agree with, but opinion nonetheless. “PoE PvP can’t be balanced”, I’m not sure what to call this except you talking out your a**. Anything can be balanced. It just takes work and time. And that’s work that GGG doesn’t want to put in as no one cares for it. I not once “defended PvP” in PoE, but was more pointing out the pointlessness of your statements. You are using ‘PvP’ to call the whole game garbage. Which is just a logical fallacy.
PoE Battle Royale > D2 any day and I do play both. D2 PvP, like I said, is just he utilization of gltiches/bugs. The only good PvP in D2 comes from tournaments set up by jsp. But that is the community making something badly designed into something good. The credit goes to the players, not the game.

It just boggled my mind someone could say D3 does almost everything better.
I can understand some say D3 has better animations and maybe combat.
But pretty much everything else is so much better designed in PoE.

The original AH (not the real money), would have worked in Diablo 3 if they had introduced a number of systems earlier instead they threw caution to the wind and sent drop rates, modifiers, and paragons through the roof for power levels…
It still stands PoE’s trade system, and use of external sites is trash, especially for new players on barriers to entry.
Between Bounties, Ubers, Rifts D3 has had some good relevant endgame - unfortunately a lot of it has been spoiled through fundamental design choices of the developers.
PoE’s endgame is definitely better formatted and even the boss mechanics are better…No one is going to dispute that.
I don’t know. I kind of agree with the PoE statements that making trade too easy kind of destroys the game. At least what they have said has been proven true over time as trade has become easier.
Here is why they won’t do what you suggest and for good reason: PoE is a very good and successful game, diablo 3 is an ok game but is a failure as a sequel and alienated the fans of the franchise and fans of ARPG’s in general.
They have pretty much said that diablo 3 expansions were cancelled because of the terrible base game fearing that even good expansions wouldn’t be supported by fans, and what work at intro level had be done for these expansions has been mostly released as free content like cube, and in the case of necro as a minor DLC.
After they cancel even small expansions for this reason…how can you suggest them to make D4 as an extra on top of diablo 3…they are doing really good that jumped ahead imo.
Personally I think D4 and POE 2 going into different directions is a good thing. I excited about what they individually come up with.
As an Arpg genre fan I think it is great that there is competition to make a superior game and it pushes the limits of the genre (which has to be a good thing).
Yes, we can keep reminiscing about the old D2 days…and I played 1000,s of hours too (and loved it) however, it is pretty dated now and as much as the mechanics were good it is really old looking.
Everyone of course has their favourites, which is cool, but I think if you peel back and look at the face of everything that has gone on in the last couple if months, it is exciting…however I think I might need to buy a new rig to run both of them because my laptop is well and truly starting to look like something that grows in the ground

I disagree.
Sorc could have focused on elements such as fire, lightning, cold.
Wizard could have focused on D&D style spells.(Several of which exist currently) Magic missile, chromatic orb etc.
With runes and ability to update/modify Sorc/Amazon/Assassin class, they could’ve been wildly different.
Same goes with the others, assassin could have focused on melee combat with claws, charge abilities and traps. Demon Hunter being a dual wielding crossbows ranged type with high mobility + crowd control traps. Amazon focusing on a split between bows and frontline fighting with pikes/spears + expanding upon Valkyries.
Very slight redundancy at best, and that’s if they just aren’t creative at all. Don’t think of DH and Wizard in their exact current forms. My way of course, would’ve required them to think more/design more. Easier to just rehash.
Diablo 3 it’s only superior to POE in the franchise name!
Its funny how even the music in PoE is more memorable and similar to old Diablo then D3.
Keep playing D3 and Poe, don’t ruin D4 for us.
Want to make D4 more like D2? Why not create MEGA expansion for D2 that revamps the end game etc…

Create D4 that is more on-par with what we would expect with a Diablo 3 sequel…
