It’s a bit weird that she’s pretty and gets her hair cut often and walks with a hip shake. I guess it’d make sense if she was a succubus, but im pretty sure necromancers are still just people, not demons.
I mean it breaks immersion, like the D3 necro being more of a sexy twilight vampire rather than someone that actually looks like they dabble into the dark arts and doesnt shower or sleep much. I was hoping D4 would return to the realism that D2 brought, but watching the trailer i just wanted to speak my mind and say i dont like this clean sexy version of necro. it doesnt make sense in diablo lore. they hang around dead things and play with blood and they should be dirty and grungy and looking like death itself. Well there’s the option of customization, and we know that a person can add tattoos or scars, so there may be an option to add dirt or dried blood and such.
Considering they are making full customization possible you are fully able to do that and make a nasty looking Necro.
I for one am glad that the option for pretty exists. Not all Necros have to be dumpy and disgusting. It’s just as reasonable to have one who looks amazing and has a great deal of confidence and care for herself.
It would be far, far worse if everyone was locked into only making creepy, nasty, disgusting.
yah it looks like a lot of options, but since it’s an mmo, i’ll have to see a lot of what was shown on the trailer so it defeats the point. In a single player or typical diablo lobby game it wouldnt be an issue.
by definition Necros believe in a strict balance between life and death and the prime evils are an antithesis that threatens that natural order by bringing death to everything at once they are a pragmatic group who strive to maintain that order no matter what it takes or regardless of whoever finds it offensive to their delicate sensibilities or moral code
they see the world as being a cold dark place where death waits around every corner stalking its next prey but life still goes on and when too much death starts becoming the norm these servants of the dark arts willingly serve the light since its purpose suits their own in the process
not really, lots of us chose creepy, nasty, disgusting Horde in WoW and we triumphed. I generally dont want to be a sexy human girl in most games since i spend my real life in that form and i just want to pretend i’m something else sometimes. I like Undead the best in WoW.
I dont see how any necro could be clean and cute. Pragmatically they spend all their time in the dirt and mud and blood and dark and showering is kinda the last thing on their mind, nor getting their hair done every few days. I dont think they’d care to shake their butt when they walk either, probably just slumber around.

necros are basically druids that have gone goth and instead of balancing the 4 elements they only seek to keep life and death in the proper perspective
theyre not devoted zealots that believe all evil should be cleansed nor are they truamatically scarred people that seek out the very evils that created them they exist for one purpose to ensure the cycle of life and death is properly maintained

well when your up to your armpits in foul demon goo and possessed insect entrails etc fighting off a near unstoppable world destroyer your really not worried about chipping a nail or the fact your hair is all frizzy
it would add a bit more realism to the game with that if there was a dynamic damage system your armor looks dented and falling apart and you are bloody etc etc and when you can return to a save haven and clean up/repair stuff but in the heat of battle there is no assurance itll stay that way

Putting a hot chick in the advertisement is a great way to get more attention. The majority of people that will play games like this are straight guys. This was bound to happen.
