i guess we must look on the internet for the cracked alpha. if blizzard want to support that player’s must go and download a cracked version of the game to be able to use our ultrawide screen that (BLIZZARD) in a way made many players go and buy based on a lie.
Blizzard you should be ashamed of your self for misleading your customers .
Yup, there must be a file we can download or something. I’m still enjoying the game even with the black bars but they are a nuisance to the eyes and aesthetically unpleasant.
the alpha has tcp/ip tho. i don’t se it as pirating due to i still own D2R, and im not going to refund it, yup it is a nuisance to the eyes and aesthetically unpleasant. i got a 32:9 monitor that is almost 50% blacked out that is something that i can’t tolerate. so either blizzard fix it at least for single player or i will try to fix it my self just need to find the alpha files on the internet for that.
I’m in the same boat as you Grim. Having a 32:9 screen and half of it unusable for the game is not what I envisioned when they originally talked about ultrawide support.
I’m jealous I didn’t get to play the closed alpha, I would take that in a second. I don’t get how any of these zealots that whine for PvP fairness in actuality a very high portion of us just want the black bars removed at the very least for SP. I do not care about a PvP advantage, it’s not my cup of tea.
same here im not a pvp player. did not get in the alpha either. but im looking for the alpha files tho hoping i can use them to at least single player if blizzard don’t let us play full screen in single player
If they don’t change it for release D2:R I’ll be doing the same and looking for the alpha game files or a modded D2:R SP if that is even possible with the released version of the game.
its adorable that you think the unfinished alpha files will help you be able to play D2R on widescreen. lmao. This is what people say who have literally no idea about programming, they installed a mod and think they are suddenly veteran programmers.
without TCP/IP, not much is going to be made as far as mods. And you think someone is going to create a mod JUST for widescreen support too? lol good luck.
Huh?
I have a 21:9 ultrawide and the game is 100% supported by it.
The only issue I have is the UI is not going all the way to the edges.
I don’t care if we have fade-to-black bars on each side for the actual game. As long as the UI uses the entire screen, that should be fine.
In any case, the game supports ultra wide resolutions natively. Your title is wrong. Just because the implementation is not exactly what you wanted it to be doesn’t mean that there isn’t “support” for it.
I never said I knew about the programming side of it, that which all my experience has been a couple courses in VB back in the day. So I by no means a pro, or even that versed in the programming side of it. Just hopeful on either solution/workaround.
I actually wouldn’t put it past that someone is able to create a mod just for widescreen support. Had I actually been more interested in furthering my programming knowledge and experience I would take time out to create a mod for it.
As much as I would want to believe that they have a good reason or response to it. It’s hard for me to be confident in their coming answer since from the get-go they stated support for UW to begin with. People have already shown videos in the alpha of UW working, and even after the cast range being reduced to 16:9 area (which is fine by me, if we have to leave it at that).
We all know they catered to the PvP crowd whining about a perceived “advantage” we’d have over them. Because those that PvP don’t like advantages rolls eyes, such as inventories full of pots, charms, killing lower players, or those that are farming in PvE, etc.
The thing that blows me away is if you really tested it out and showed a different, the only thing that could be an advantage is seeing someone a little farther away (this is considering spell casting range is reduced). You still have to drag your mouse cursor farther, have more on screen to distract you, plus you might run into unforeseen performance issues with a larger resolution.
yep just look at the beta game play now the pvp crowd jump around pking newbie games and trolling the forum about it they should just remove the hostile button and add pvp arenas that auto hostile when you enter that game one 16:9 and one uw arena then our uw would not matter and all would be happy but the pvp crowd cuz they would not be able to pk anymore… and yes this vignette adds a lot more stress to the already hard working gpu’s. and there was a post about a PC on the forum that when’t up in smoke during 5 hr game play closed beta.

``` this is just a lame no cost way to cut corners due to they are out of time this `https://twitter.com/RodFergusson/status/1428728754646433797` is as i say just a big lie and a bucket of horse crap. and wait and see the response will be like this, after careful deliberation we have decided not to support Ultrawide resolution because it break orginal game logic.bla bla bla horse crap it worked in the alpha
