ohhh scary, Changeling, d3 is super easy, i think it was kripp who killed diablo on hell naked. when it comes to skills well you dont need to decide, u pick this for 2 second now that ohh that was a bad idea switch to something else, no consequences.
same damage stat for every class its just about DPS and damge, its handed to you on a platter no need for thinking no regrets no nothing its just follow that path and you win, you kill a mob yay upgrade kill a few more Upgrade… uhh shiny, nothing to work hard for, no consequences, ups i picked the wrong skills 3 times in a row like a phool now i gotta deal with that, farm for a token of resolution ( hate those free resets and tokens) or make a new char.
“Play fair” is about player choise, take something and not tell anyone or share loot with your group. When you share what you find with group thats fair, when not unfair.
With personal loot you dont have any choise, there is no “fair actions” you can perform.
im starting to wonder my self, i kinda confused my self trying to understand it.
but hey i dont like Ploot either
My mind is like a fine colander… oh wait… nevermind…
Паныч, Unfortunately, I do not understand what you are saying, perhaps English not your first langue, its my 4th so I will gracefully bow out as I cannot either understand nor argue with you. I will say that personal loot with regards to choice and fairness does fit those design pillars. Fair because we all get something for out invested time and effort. Choice, because we have the choice to do what we will with out freedoms.
So in your example, a bow drops for the barbarian. Are you actually claiming that the barbarian can not choose to give it to the amazon out of fairness in a personal loot system? That is simply not true.
Are you confused and think personal loot means account bound? If so, you are wrong. Personal loot does not mean account bound.
Who wants this? Def not me
oh, sorry, i misread that
That was about negative interaction, if someone plays unfair it should be handled by players through communication. not by game system.
spoken like someone who uses a loot bot
People will still do chaos and baal runs for xp. But there might be a new group meta where they do split boss runs and open TPs for each other, or everyone tries to find Andy/Meph first together.
A carry meta might come up as well. Pay a Pul rune and get 20 Meph runs from a geared hammerdin or Blizz sorc. Or something like that. Might be worth it for those non-speed meta builds that people start with, if they didn’t start season with a mf sorc. Get 7 people paying for the loot carries at a time, and that’s a pretty sizable profit for the runner.
It happened in WoW Classic, almost immediately. People paying for xp/loot carries.
This would certainly increase the popularity of public vs private games. Private games for solo mfing were only popular because of split loot. Without split loot, the only disadvantage to mfing in a public game is time. Probably still faster to tele and kill meph on players 1 online than teleporting, opening portal and waiting for 7 people to zone in before the kill, then remaking the game for 7 to join again.
Dude… Sure Zelda survived, but Zelda has a Gazillion of different Games, Diablo has 3.
even if Mechanics are out dated, it doesnt mean it should be changed.
you want personal loot? go single player!
This is Diablo 2 and should be treated as Diablo 2, changing loot rules etc is too much of the core game, then its just total remake game.
This is supposed to be a remaster with some QoL.
Would D2R still be a remaster if their was a strict remaster realm and an improved modern realm with more changes?
I think so.
why go to all the trouble tho? we have D3, dont we? this is for D2. why make D2 closer to D3?
it can be considered a QOL though.
also shared stash is way more changing everything than you may think considering now , you don’t have to have a 2nd account or a trusty friend or risking losing your item by throwing your items to transfer them.
now you can do it alone in a minute.
which change the economy drastically : now considering how fast it is , people can simply only try to get one enigma , one annhilus etc… and use it for every char they have without needing to get more of them as it will be less tedious and more reliable to transfer item now.
i wouldn’t call that a little QOL nor a “remaster” by your definition of it.
Huh? Is this you or somebody else?
Hahaha i play D2 almos 20 Years and never use any boots maphacks and other shi*&^t
Actually this is for D2R. No one is changing D2.
Assuming that you are referring to D2R, the D2R strict remaster realm remains FFA only and as a result, this realm would not be closer to D3.
sure this is a big change, which im so-so for, but personal loot changes the game EVEN more.
Personal loot is just too much, it wont be diablo 2 anymore then
D3 would still be way more absurd. giving everyone an auto roll for loot only makes thing more fair imo. you don’t have too compete against loot bots or higher speed connections. The main thing that makes D3 ridiculous is that you can get over 100 legendary items within hours. even if ploot is added to D2 it wont even come close too how D3 spoils everyone that plays it.
i fail to see how something that doesn’t change the drop rate , the economy and is only a toggleable that you can join or not change diablo more than something as big as shared stash that almost destroy the economy by itself
