i was doing a cow level in a game only i was in, two people came into the game and i had just poped a vision. one of them ran the whole vision in a rush and i got nothing from it. so starting now i run them all alone and also keep running puzzles alone. if your in a multi[ply game you should allow the others to complete the visions and get rewards along the way. another reason to run them is the excess of items dropped and trips required to unload them from cows and the vision that spawns. what a jerk.
I wouldn’t let the actions of 1 person shift your view. There are just random jerks out there but there are still good people.
You should (or could) disable quick join (or something like that) in the settings to avoid random people entering your game without your acceptance.
What a jerk indeed.
But, don’t let them keep you away from being a kind person who likes to share. Simply block them. Next time you run a cow level, just invite people from the powerleveling or seasonal communities. Throughout playing D3 for many years, I’ve found most people in those communities absolutely love receiving a bit of help and are very nice and patient about it. There will always be jerks, there will always be losers. But we can still win together.
You can join up to them and watch the mini-map more closely. Also you can open the Vision elsewhere, so it would block a new portal from forming.
what do you mean open the vision elsewhere?
I don’t know the context of your game play, so take my advice as a grain of salt. But from what I and everyone else knows, there can only be one Vision portal present in the game world at a time. So if you trigger it somewhere else, at some random over world area or dungeon before inviting your guests or friends, what have you, you won’t have this complaint. Once it’s active elsewhere, they won’t be able to open it as they slay monsters and you won’t have such problem. You just have to hold yourself for a while and don’t jump inside until your guests leave.
As I have said, take it as a grain of salt, because I have no idea about your habits in the gameplay. When you are comfortable with the solo play, it doesn’t worth going through all of that honestly.
The first option to check when you want to play quietly in your corner
Jazz summed it up very well. Do not leave other players “free” on your game. There is an option for that.
I play rarely in public, but when I play with another player, we agree on the mode/playing time.
The Echoing Nightmares tire me quickly enough, so we agree for 3 or 4.
It suits us. We tried once or twice with another player, for us, it was just hellish.
The result is that we invite no one anymore, or the player is quickly fired if he does not respect the rules. (The rules are not very difficult …)
Could be wrong, but thought the “quick join” feature was only for those on your flist. It has been a while, I turned off others quick joining me like 10 years ago.
Clan members also affected by quick join
