What some of you consider outdated and clunky, I find beautiful and quirky.
I still play ogd2 without mods, and I love it.
I play sacred, and that game is so buggy it’s ridiculous, but I wouldn’t want a sacred remaster that fixed all those ‘bugs’ half of them make the game more fun.
I still play plenty of dos games from the early to mid 90s that perhaps half of you would quit after a day because the mechanics are so old. They’re terrific games.
Most things in d2 don’t need to be ‘fixed’. It’s still better than PoE in my opinion, it’s better than D3, in my opinion.
Well said OP! D2 is a fantastic ARPG time capsule, it had revolutionary ideas and mechanics for its time and was a game where patience paid off, you weren’t handed the best gear quickly. To give it the visual facelift it deserves is what many fans of the game truly looked for.
Yes as long the game stays to the original as possible. Like completly new loot distribuition system never comes.
That is a problem what we pc players dont care. Game dont going to get total different playstyle cus console isnt moddable. Maybe on console but on pc not.
Sure, but you also have to remember that they are launching D2R on consoles. It can’t be majorly clunky because it will be even more clunky with a controller. Blizzard wants to make money and the game should feel good to play. They shouldn’t change it drastically though.
Well Blizzard does care. They want sales. That is why they invited so many streamers that are new to D2 to play. To show the game to new audiences and it is why they keep putting out surveys asking about changes.
Blizz is not going to change d2r on pc to please console players. Console players can be happy that they can get d2r on console. Like console gets skill bar. Pc only gets when you use a controller. But with mouse and keyboard you never get skill bar. Thats also goes for loot distribution system. I dont know what thinks blizz from console but it also dont comes to pc.
I agree that there may be limitations for console players. I’m all for an extra realm for the players on pc and console that want extra QoL.
I don’t think it’s unreasonable to want a remaster with most mechanics as they were in d2, though. They shouldn’t make big balance changes like charm inventory just because the cube method is clunky on consoles.
