hi i have diablo 3 on cd but ii can olny play the starter edition why this is happening?
If it is from the base game that is all that is on it. You really don’t need that disk. All you have to do is download the Battle-net interface. Then just download everything from there. That is if you own everything. If you don’t you have to buy the other add-ons.
You can only play the starter edition because the Battle.Net account that you are using does not have a license for Diablo III.
There should be an Authentication key in the box Diablo III came in… mine was glued to the jacket for the game DVD. You need to redeem that code on the same Battle.Net account that you are using to launch D3; note however that you can only redeem the code once. If you have already redeemed it, you will need to use the same Battle.Net account that you already redeemed it on.
You can redeem the authentication key here: https://account.battle.net/overview (you will need to logon to your Battle.Net account).
Yeaa “Starter edition” basically means that you need to buy the game or enter the cd-key on your account, you’ve got only “demo” version
i got a guest code i activated it and nothing happend
Yeah… Guest codes were being provided in the early (physical copies) versions of Diablo III… they’re the same as Starter Edition. They’re not really required nowadays.
If you have the physical Guest Pass, you’ll note that it says:
The Guest account allows you to play Diablo III for free up to the Skeleton King boss in Act I.
You still need to buy Diablo III (on sale now at the Blizzard Shop) if you want to go further in the game. Sale ends July 1st.
ohh so i can only play to skeleton king
Yes… unless you purchase a license for Diablo III.
P.S. : I just noticed that your BattleTag is from Europe… if you are in Europe, you should probably use the Europe site for the Shop – not sure what currency it’s going to give you if you use the US site.
The Europe site for the Shop is here: https://eu.shop.battle.net/en-gb/product/diablo-iii?p=38789
Well, US shop is a bit cheaper for us Europeans, but even if you try to buy on US shop, it automatically transfers you to EU one (unless VPN’ing).
Still, EU/US the price difference is not that much that it is worth circumventing the shop.
