I wouldn’t give any mind to what an alt account says, but that’s just me. I recommend just blocking them like I did. If they want to shell out another $20 so they can circumvent the block feature, let them.

This is just like the 4 posts you dug up with the most recent being a year ago and that reply was in response to someone who went to the D4 forums and dragged a post from there over to this forum to repost his nonsense edit: with the intent to actually start a dogpile.
Anyway, yay, you found one thread where no one interacted with him. That’s the way it should be all the time but you know it isn’t.
So, quit playing semantic games because you’re making yourself look silly.

Then again, it would illustrate that it’s a bit hypocritical to complain about this thread when everyone shows up because they were called on their behavior. But I’m not really interested in that. What I took issue with is one who does that behavior having the audacity to complain about this thread. And I’m not interested in becoming the victim of a dogpile because folks could misinterpret my complaint as defending Bravata when I’m not.

Always kills me when any person needs “ammo” and uses posts from a long time ago. At what point do you… ya know… get over it?
I wouldn’t take the bait. It’s just an attempt to misdirect. A hypocrite got called out and conveniently a sock account shows up to desperately try and take the focus off them and put the light on you.
And don’t even sweat the “clique”. It’ll likely be the same guy playing musical chairs with this posting characters. You can catch them when they do this because they’ll have the exact same syntax, same grammatical errors, use the same logical fallacies in the same manner, and have the same passive aggressive temperament, etc. They have a tiny bit of talent as fakes but not enough brains to see it all the way through.
Same as above, but again, that’s just a poor attempt at misdirection. Don’t be fooled by it.

This is true. But still, I happened to be the first to reply to that thread if I remember correctly and I’m thinking if I wasn’t then his mission would have been accomplished.
At any rate, it just bugs the hell out of me when folks think they’re “too cool for school”. I mean, I should also take your advice and let this go but I hadn’t eaten breakfast yet and was a little hangry.
But yeah, it just bothers me.

I assume that we all have things that bother us about the forum. Most relevant to the current conversation for me is stating things accurately and without hyperbole.
If you simply stated that “Forum member X is criticized unfairly on a routine basis in multiple threads by several posters”, I would have been ok with that statement. By your own admission, your comments were a hyperbole. A hyperbole by definition is an exaggeration/overstatement and lacks accuracy.
That is what bothered me yesterday. I hope that helps you understand.

Yeah, I agree there’s not many sock puppet accounts on the board. There’s 2 and only 2 I know of. One is Bravata and the other is a guy named StoneOld. The second doesn’t hide it though. He posts under different accounts but they’re all similarly named or at least complaining about the same things and admits it when someone notices.
That said, I don’t really blame Mattelot for coming to the conclusion that there’s more just on account that it would seem suspicious that several different people will come to defend one another or have principally the same arguments.
So, the same evidence that there’s a clique could support an argument of sock puppets.
To my knowledge he doesn’t use his accounts to do anything covert. Right now he (Stone) has a topic about rolls on ancient gear. And he has made no secret that he plays a couple accounts because he likes the game.

Agreed. Which is why I said he doesn’t hide it. Was just saying that he has multiple accounts and posts under all of them at one time or another. But he doesn’t do stuff like “like” his own comments and stuff like that.

There are a few more than you named, including some botters who use their alts to post on the forum. There is really only one poster who constantly complains about sock puppets and alts. The rest of us know that alts exist, but it is relatively few alts overall. The quoted below claim that someone said is absolute rubbish.

Not going to argue that. There could be more. I’m just saying there’s 2 I know about and one of them isn’t really a “sock puppet” guy just someone with multiple accounts.
But yeah, some people do some off the wall stuff when they can.
